YUM YUM YUM. 10/10 would absolutely go again. My husband is a fried chicken fanatic so we decided to make the trek over to Santa... Monica to give this place a try. Its in a neat spot where there are a bunch of restaurants all operating out of the same space.You order via a screen at a counter and then find a place to sit on their small patio area. It was about a 20-30 min wait to getour food but there were TVs and such to keep us busy, it was nice to know our food was being made fresh! The chicken was extrajuicy and tender, the seasoning was so good and kept you coming back. The hint of spice was absolutely perfect and i made youwanting more! The breading was a bit different from that of regular fried chicken but it was crunchy, savory and so light andairy honestly the best breading i have had! The cornbread was good and not dry and the mac and cheese oh my goodness. usuallymac and cheese is terribly bad from BBQ and fried chicken places cause its just dry and cold, this was seasoned so well with ahit of spice and ultra creamy. i shouldve order another side to go! will 100% be back again!! We had heard that the famous New Orleans Willie Mae's fried chicken had opened in Santa Monica so we decided to try it. We... expected to arrive at a regular restaurant but instead it was one of those kitchens where you can order from variousrestaurants on a self service/ordering system, but that did not deter us at all. We were happily greeted by Louis, who waseager to assist us and make our ordering as easy as possible, since we had never experienced something like this before. Louishad some great recommendations so we placed our order. The meal came out after about 20 minutes in to go containers. We satoutside at the location and dove right in. We were pleasant surprised that the chicken was moist, well seasoned and absolutelydelicious! The sides of French fries, corn bread muffin and macaroni and cheese were just as good. Chicken is great, the sides not so much. This is not the same as the NOLA "original" that was rebuilt after Katrina.

I ordered the tenders with Mac n cheese today, you get 3 large pieces with a side and corn bread. The chicken is delicious,... really crunchy with a great level of heat. Mac n cheese is maximum creamy, very tasty. The quality of this place is high, we?relucky to have a NOLA legend in the neighborhood, highly recommend! Read more

Ordered through UberEats from the Colony. Food arrived piping hot. We got four pieces of chicken and decided quickly that... this was the absolute best fried chicken we'd ever tasted. We are confident in saying that Willie Mae's puts all other friedchicken LA offerings to shame (we can say this without even having tried them all). As we're counting calories, it may be awhile before we order again but suffice it to say that Willie Mae's West LA pop-up is the real deal. Read more
