I am surprised that their ratings aren?t higher! I?ve been here a few times and the food is quite good! Asada is always... delicious! The other meats are a hit or miss but not too bad. More on the pricier side but huge portions! So you get what youpaid. Place is always clean and spacious. What keeps me coming back is the salsas. I?m a big salsa person and many tacoplaces/mexican restaurants here in utah have very watered down salsas. Here they are so flavorful and spicy as well. I like thatthey give out chips to eat while we wait. the only thing is that i did order a quesadilla azteca which the tortilla was echa amano but was a bit undercooked and dry. Labels missing at the salsa bar made this [confusing]. What level of heat is this salsa? Food arrived hanging off the... plate. Am I supposed to eat what's been hanging on the table? :( Toe- tapping Spanish music, well-seasoned and generous portionof carne asada, pleasant staff, and a great view of the mountains were highlights. What a pleasant experience! Dropped in to grab lunch for myself and my girlfriend. The store was spotless. My order was right.... The menu has lots of variety and the prices was reasonable. They even offered me free chips while I waited, and the salsa at thesalsa bar was delicious. Most striking was the staff. I felt genuinely welcomed as a customer. El Mexiquense was fine. Staff was nice and the food was ready plenty fast. It?s just nothing special is all. You?re paying... standard sit down rates but it tastes like street tacos. I paid $12+ for lunch, but could have paid $4 at a taco stand for thesame lunch. I would be fine to go back if someone else wanted to go. But I won?t be pushing for another visit. Read more

Randomly drove by and saw the tacos sign so I decided to stop. Loved all four of their salsa/hot sauces; they seemed... appropriately marked for the level of heat and surprisingly I really enjoyed all four of them. I tried the Carne Asada, Pastorpork, and shrimp tacos. The marinated pork was by far my favorite; I?ve never eaten a taco that I did not need to add some kindof sauce at you and this one was amazing!! The mango on top with the smoky marinade is the stuff dreams are made of. The shrimptaco had some kind of crispy grilled cheese on it and it was also really really good. The Carne Asada was good too but not assurprising as the other two. They gave me chips while I was waiting which was a nice touch. Excited to go back. Read more

Went here close to closing time. Didnt get a welcome in or anything. I asked what what good on the menu right now since they... were cleaning up a bunch of things and the guy just said it was all good. I got a chamaco burrito which is shredded beef andbeans with rice and cheese. No cheese was on my burrito. My wife ordered two chicken tacos ???? and her stomach was wrecked ????which rarely happens anywhere for her. Chicken was cold as well on tacos. We did like the flavor of the tortilla chips theygave us with the order and flavor of the sauces included in little dishes to go. The red sauce had no spice though and was verychunky so hard to get it out of the little container. Was also stange that they had a churro on a huge plate with sauce (likecaramel) on it in front by register but no option to purchase one. This churro on oversized plate had saran wrap over it as welland was strange. Over all atmosphere inside was nice with vibrant colors and it seemed very clean.
