Korean restaurants are numbered in CT, so we decided to give this new one a try. The restaurant was pretty busy at the time, and... because of that the staff was a bit unorganized and inattentive. The appetizers were very good and it seemed to be on par withthe Korean food in the area. Unfortunately, the entrees were not as good. I ordered the traditional dish known as Japchae. Forsome reason this was listed under apps and not entrees. It?s supposed to be a beef stir fry dish but it was very short of beef.After bringing attention to the issue, it was resolved with a brief exchange. The entrees tasted less authentic than theappetizers. I wouldn?t say that this place was bad, but I think the lack of organization and maybe staff doesn?t allow thisplace to shine. OMG! Fantastic food and service. They really go the extra mile on the amenities. From a variety of kimchee and a delicious... salmon roll to start (no charge) to watermelon to finish (again no charge). The Seafood Soon Tofu was delicious, the Tonkatsuwas also, but the Tang Su Yuk was the best sweet and sour I have had in decades! Absolutely amazing. My friend and I have been CRAVING some amazing Korean food and we?ve been to multiple restaurants but DAWA was by far the best... decision ever! Yes they are pricy but the quality and quantity matches that! So authentic and the customer service was also soamazing! We felt welcomed and well taken care of. We asked for recommendations and they were amazing! I wish I got better photosbut we wanted to just dig in ???????????????? Side note: if you are ARMY and love BTS you?ll be happy to know they played BTSsongs almost the whole time we were there ???? Read more
Glad to see a new Korean Restaurant in new haven area! Seafood pancake was crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside with... plenty of seafood! My Bibim Naengmyeon was just what I was looking for in this hot weather. The place was bright and comfy. Youcan see the restaurant as you exit the highway at the light, but don't go straight in as that lot is not connected to therestaurant. Instead, at the light turn right and immediate turn left, and you'll be there. Read more
Went here for dinner and forgot to take photos of the main dishes?.just the side dishes, oops. But the place was lovely. The... staff were quite friendly and attentive. The food came out quite quickly and was large in portion (although the price was alsoproportionately high). We had the tonkatsu and bokkeum-bap. Would recommend the place. Read more
