Great atmosphere, very friendly service and awesome food. Love the flavorful brisket, smoked pork belly and smoked turkey. ... Other favorites are the corn casserole and cabbage. Big portions - no complaints. Great place to sit outside under big oaktrees along the Brazos River. They have live music sometimes on the weekends. Even though it says closed they are mostdefinitely open - March 2022 Read more

This is our first time eating at this restaurant.???? The barbecue souseit was way different from other locations???? The meat was Soso, not a lot of people. The staff were friendly. Friendly staff & yummy green beans. Our other sides were cold unfortunately. The brisket was a bit dry and the sausage was good.... The potato salad is very creamy (Mayo) I prefer a mustard potato salad. Read more
I have worked in this area of TX for the past 4 yrs and never tried this place, now I'm kicking myself. Today was the 1st time.... A very unique kind of setting. Kind of a buffet style place but they fix your plate. You can see the available sides at thecounter when you order. I had the 2 meat plate with brisket and pork ribs, a choice of 2 sides, trash can potatoes and greenbeans, both were very good. I'm more of a pork eater and thought the ribs were very good along the brisket I had. Nothing wrongwith the brisket but not what I usually order when eating BBQ. Had a bite of my wife's cornbread casserole and it was very tastyalso. The banana pudding was delightful and all I could do to eat it after eating that plate full of food. As a matter of factneither me or the wife could eat all that was on our plate and we took a to go plate home with us. The 1 meat plate was $13 andthe 2 meat was $16 and there was a 3 meat but I don't remember the price, but you can Google the place and look at a menu. Theyalso have a FB page. Plenty of parking kind of in an open field, no pavement. Lots of outdoor picnic tables and several tablesinside in the AC. We were there on a Wed mid afternoon so it was not very busy at all, but I have been by there at times when itis very busy on the wknds. Check out the pics below. Read more
Late lunch on Friday, first time to try. Working in the area, thought we?d give it a whirl. Brisket: good bark, salty/peppery.... Tad on the dry side but, it was a late lunch. Still good, still tender. The sauce on the side was unique. Not overly sweet andtangy. Potatoes were the red type, good but nothing distinctive by themselves. The smoked cabbage was really good. Large piecesof bacon and thinly slice sausage. Sweet tea was good and on point. Definitely worthy of a weekend drive out from the city toeat again. Will hit it right at it?s peak hour and be judgey if that brisket is a little dry again. ???? Read more
Service was quick and friendly. I asked for and got a sample of the potatoes, which were very good as was the jalapeño cabbage.... The Mac and cheese was pretty standard, nothing special. Prices are reasonable. Ribs leave something very much to be desired.Best described as tough, chewy and dry. What has happened to moist, juicy, fall off the bone ribs like Aunt Mary used to make.If anyone knows please tell me. Read more
What a great place with a great atmosphere! I had the brisket, jalapeno sausage, pork belly, Mac n cheese, and the trashcan... potatoes. The brisket was great, had wonderful flavor and the perfect moistness. The jalapeno sausage had great flavor and theright amount of kick, not too spicy but it was for sure there. The pork belly was also moist and tasted spectacular! The mealwas great and there was plenty of food so you can take some home and enjoy it again! My wife had the brisket baked potato whichshe said was wonderful. To me a good meat must stand on its own and not have to get dunked in sauce to have flavor, Brazos RiverBrisket House understands this and delivers great flavor. We will return and frequently!
