Came here for lunch to try their infamous Duck Fat Burger and it did not disappoint! The bartender perfectly described what I... would experience in eating the burger and it will not be forgotten. Amazing seasoned fries as well. Every table in therestaurant was raving about what they ordered after their meal?that?s when you know you?ve found a good place. Stop for acocktail across the street at Station No. 6 before or after dinner at this amazing spot! Read more

Great spot in West Allis! Great drink menu and selection. Loved everything we tried: cheese plate, Brussels sprouts,... meatballs, burger and fries(special changes), gnocchi with mushroom cream sauce and then cast iron chocolate chip dessert! Read more

We come for the oyster special. Although tonight I was very impressed with the Thai curry with shrimp. My other go to is the... Faroe island salmon. Very delicious. Another great dinner in the books. Thanks wild roots! Read more

We love Wild Roots! Their staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The menu is adventurous, but has classic... favorites for the picky eaters. Their rotational dessert menu might be my favorite part! They have unique cocktails and myfavorite entree is the Vegan Thai Curry. Read more

We absolutely loved this restaurant from the moment we stepped in. We drove in to eat here because of positive buzz we had heard... from neighborhood friends as well as Facebook groups?and we understand it all now! The restaurant is small and very cute. Ithink they might be able to seat 15 parties or so. Even though we didn?t have a reservation, they were able to seat us rightaway, but the place filled up quickly after we started. The small plates were delicious. We had the bulgogi meatballs, deviledeggs and cheese board. The meatballs are a definite can?t miss. The deviled eggs were very good, though probably not somethingwe would order again. The cheese board was delicious with some high-quality cheeses (Hooks 5 yr cheddar!). However theaccompanying toast could be improved with a few assorted crackers instead. Our entrees were definitely on point. The gnocchiwas flavorful. The steak frites was cooked perfectly and served over a delightful creamed spinach. Dessert was pretty good?butwe had to hurry through. The house cocktails were tried were bright and refreshing. Service was attentive and provided somegreat insight. Read more

Well, a week ago, coming on my way home after seeing some friends and deciding as close to dinner time that I was a bit hungry. ... So I decided to stop at a place that always intrigued me in passing but never stopped. Wild Roots on 6807 W Becher St, WestAllis, WI 53219. Very close to Becher Meats and the West Allis Cheese & Sausage Shop. I got there as they had just startedtheir dinner service and as by myself seated myself at the bar. The staff was very attentive and, in my experience, continueddelightful to talk to. Several things caught my eye in looking at the dinner menu, but as not extremely hungry, I decided on acouple of small plates. I decided on the Deviled Eggs with Chicharrones and the Vietnamese Chicken Wings. Both items weredelicious and well presented, and very tasty. I looked over menus later in the night when I got home and for sure have torevisit for brunch. Maybe I'll see you there! Read more

Wanted to try something new today and this place came across my FB news feed. I am all about trying new places with adventurous... menus, and they did not disappoint! The sticky wings with the lime were that perfect balance between slightly spicy and sweet. The hanger steak on the sandwich was cooked to perfection, the lightly salted fries was like the cherry on top. The sandwich wasso filling. I also wanted to try the breakfast since it was on the same menu, and still being served in the afternoon. I triedthe mushroom omelette made French style, while the flavors were amazing the French style was not for me. In case you don?t know,a French style omelette is fluffy and slightly runny in the middle. Just wasn?t my cup of tea. Overall this place gets its 5stars, the wait staff was friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. I?ll definitely be back. Read more

Lovely and intimate. This place met my expectations and more. Went here because I heard about the fish fry. Ended up ordering... three different appetizers as well (sweet bread, baby octopus, and oysters) . All was delicious. Our server Gabby was attentiveto our needs and pleasant to deal with. The host when asked shared the history of the restaurant and their mission (local farms, nothing goes to waste, and good food). Bluegill was the fish of the day and I reallyenjoyed it. I will definitely be visitingagain. Read more
