I've only had bar service here - both while waiting for a movie and also to take into the movie, and both times it was... excellent. The bartender was very friendly and had very good recommendations when my preferred bourbon wasn't available, and healways had a generous pour and offered a whiskey rock instead of regular ice. I plan to make it a regular stop before movies andhope to grab some food, too. Read more

This place is a joke. Walked in and the place was empty. The bartender... And let's be honest here, he was so nice and he tried,... but he straight up said he did not know how to make any mixed drinks because he was new. I seriously doubt this kid was oldenough to even legally serve drinks. And he was completely alone. Totally not his fault and he was doing his best. This is onmanagement. I have serious doubts about the competence of the management of this place and I doubt it will be here much longer.The food was over salted and overcooked as well. Cask + Shaker Craft Bar and Kitchen, located in The Mall at Wellington Green, is a favorite spot to meet with friends for... enjoying delicious appetizers and wine before catching a movie at the adjacent CMX Cinemas Wellington with which thisestablishment is partnered. Some of our favorites on the Cask + Shaker menu include crispy fries with Parmesan cheese and blacktruffle oil, habanero glazed wings with a mango dipping sauce, and fried calamari dusted with chorizo bits and mango aioli andtomato sauce for dipping. The happy hour menu is updated often, which keeps things interesting. For an entree, you can?t gowrong with their churrasco steak, which is topped with chimichurri sauce and served with black beans and rice and plantaincrips. We also like their Wagu sliders, which are topped with bacon onion jam and aged cheddar, and are served with Parmesantruffle fries. They have some lovely hand-crafted specialty cocktails, including mojitos (try the Havana Club Añejo Mojito)and a basil lemonade (Tito?s vodka, blueberries, basil and lemon). Cask + Shaker has a great selection of draught beers andwine. We like to enjoy the happy hour selection and then each take a glass ?to go? to enjoy at the theater next door. Grabbed a quick happy hour before a movie. Super fast service and the food was great. Their before 7 happy hour was great worth... $2 off beers and 1/2 appetizers, both of which you can take into the movie if you want. Food came out in less than 10 minuteswhich was fantastic. This place started off as a great place when it first opened. Sadly, I?m not sure what?s going on over there anymore. We went... last night before a movie, and it was not a good experience. When we first walked in, half the tables were dirty and the bar wasfull of empty glasses. Now, this would be somewhat acceptable had there been a crowd... but the restaurant was empty. When ourserver finally greeted us, we told her we had a movie in an hour and she acknowledged. So, we ordered promptly. It took at least15 minutes to receive our drinks, 25 minutes to receive our appetizer, and about 50 minutes for the food. Now again, we were oneof two tables in the whole place. After receiving our dinners, we needed ?to-go? boxes so that we would make the movie on time.One feature that this restaurant used to offer was that you could bring your food in to the movie theater, so we weren?t tooworried. However, the theater/restaurant partnership apparently is not a thing anymore. But we had to bring our ?to-go? dinnersin anyway because we didn?t have time to eat at the restaurant. Long story short, the service took way too long... the tablesand bar were still dirty when we left... the food and drinks were mediocre... and the staff moves very slow. We also ended upbeing late for our movie after all that. I hope this restaurant can turn itself around because it is a great location for moviegoers. Advice- move with alacrity, keep a clean restaurant, have enough staff, and improve the menu. Read more
