The fact that I'm Hispanic and my 1 star review on this Mexican restaurant should say enough. I ordered a Chimichanga and that... wasnt even what I got. I got a soggy chicken wrap with raw peppers, not even cheese on it and they call that a Chimichanga. The"Melted Cheese" appetizer was literally cheese that you could buy from a gas station, but melted. Only good thing we tried wasthe chips and the drinks. 20% tip is included on the bill, even though our waitor never brought us water nor napkins or evenbrought the food herself, she still got 20% from us. Came here because of a tiktok, but it?s nothing to cry home about. We sat at the bar for happy hour. The experience was alright,... nothing too crazy. Both bartenders were kind. Happy hour drinks were good. The apps were great! In the tiktok they had themelted cheese dip with chorizo and it was good; hot, not too salty and gooey. The empanadas were alright. The entree selectionwas small and do NOT include rice and beans, which is extremely rare for a Mexican restaurant. They HAVE to be ordered on theside for an up-charge. Their birria tacos were alright. The churasco we had was good but not worth the price. They have an openkitchen which is displeasing to the educated eye because the kitchen staff was not wearing gloves, but the kitchen was very veryclean. And in the bathroom, they recycled wet toilet paper which for me was a big negative. The bill was alright for what weconsumed, but they include an automatic 20% gratuity which is bold for a restaurant like this. Sunday Brunch! The staff is helpful and friendly. Their house salsa is fantastic, but the house chips are a little tough, yet... tasty. I got a breakfast burrito and it was perfectly and evenly packed from end to end. My wife and I shared their biggestmargarita and it was awesome! Read more
I got excited reading the menu. All the items sounded authentic, well described Mexican dishes. The food was a little... disappointing. The bira tacos did not have any flavor and did not come topped with onions or cilantro like the menu stated. The consume was also bland. I ended up asking for hot sauce and sour cream, anything to give these things some flavor! My wifehad fish tacos, which were fine but nothing great. I also saw they had ceviche with squid so I decided to take a chance andorder the calamari, thinking it would be fresh since they made ceviche there. Nope, frozen and doughy, ate them anyway becauseI'm a pig. Not impressed though! One really good thing they had was their salsa, however, we got a small plastic cup of itwhich was devoured quickly. The atmosphere here is very beautiful with the paintings. Staff is super friendly. Music is great too. Starting off, the salsa... that came with the chips is legit, LEGIT Homemade. Absolutely a 10/10 Salsa. I?ve been to many spots before and the salsa waswatery and typical. The salsa here is chunky and savory. We ordered empanadas to start and the taste was amazing, flavorful andfilling. For the main meal, we got an order of steak tacos and shrimp tacos. Both orders were perfect. Excellent taste, size wascompared to street tacos and the price was not bad at all. Would recommend Jalapeño Mexican Grill to anyone in the area lookingfor an authentic Mexican restaurant.
