Reviews for Capricci's True Italian in Waxhaw, NC
We just had our Thanksgiving Feast To-Go from them. Because of family members' schedules, our Thanksgiving got moved to Monday.... Normally, pick up for the Feast is Wed or Thu, but Ted at Capricci's said they could accommodate the early pick up. They scoredbig points right there for customer service, They scored additional points when we started eating because every dish wasdelicious and plentiful - turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, Brussels sprouts (green bean casserole wasanother option), cranberry sauce, gravy, rolls & butter. We did not opt for one of their desserts. A lot of food. The onlydownside was there wasn't the aroma of a cooking Thanksgiving dinner wafting through the house all morning. Ok, that's supposedto be a joke. There is no downside. To have a delicious, complete Thanksgiving meal prepared with minimum clean-up since wedidn't use our pots and pans, made for a very relaxed day. Well, well worth it. Read more
The place is nice and the staff very friendly, always checking if you are ok. I was expecting more about the food, it caught my... attention the "true italian" but the dishes were nothing close to that. The pasta was cooked well, but the chicken and thesauces didn't have any flavor, I felt that they were like coming directly from a can. Price range is around average for thistype of Italian restaurant, I'll not come back soon unless I see more reviews saying that they are going in a better direction. Read more
My fiancée and I celebrated my moms birthday. This was our first time to the restaurant. Elli G was our server. She was... fantastic. Knowledgeable and attentive with a wonderful personality. I had the Italian trio and the ladies both had the shrimpscampi. We also had an order of calamari. They were the perfect portion sizes. We also had desserts. When Elli brought thedessert for mom additional staff had arrived, after placing a large sparkling Val about candle on the dessert everyone sanghappy birthday and most everyone in the restaurant clapped. What an enjoyable evening and experience. Read more
I have to say we were very disappointed with this place! We were really looking forward to trying it out and we were not too... happy. We came in when there wasn't much people and still had to wait an hour for our food and most of the food came out cold. Iwould not recommend the pizza either. You literally have a mouth full of flour after one bite. It's very unpleasant. Also wecame in with 4 adults and 20% tip was taken automatically which, we are really good tippers, but this time the service was NOTworth that. The whole experiance was very disappointing. Furthermore some of the food was very dry and had no flavor, but thedrinks were the worst we ended up paying for them but it was like drinking pepper, both drinks were so bad I noticed otherpeople not liking there drinks and ordering water afterwards. Would not recommend. Read more
The place is not bad. Great pasta entrees and amazing Signature Mary sauce. The steak was not great, it didn't have flavor. The... mashed potatoes had a flavor I couldn't describe but my wife liked it. The Aperol Spritz was good, they made it per my requestwith tonic instead of club soda but the orange tasted too artificial no real orange juice. Wasn't bad at all but overpricedbased on the ingredients. I wouldn't have mentioned it if it was cheaper. Overall, a great place to go eat pasta, you willdefinitely enjoy it and we will come back. I went for coffee and dessert with a friend. I've heard from many, and from Italians, this place is truky authenticl. The... bartender (her name escapes me) is the daughter of the owners and she went above and beyond with service and talking about thefood and menu items. We had the fresh lemon cake, it was divine. Coffee was the best, no bitterness at all. Julie is a serverand her customers love her ( she has a ton of regulars). We are going back to eat and I can't wait! Read more
