I don't often do reviews, but this is one of my favorite take out places. I only get the spicy veggie medley, and I love it. It... has the perfect amount of heat, and it's delicious. My partner only gets the braised beef burgundy, and loves it. We shouldbranch out more, but it's so yummy, that we just want the same dishes whenever we get take out from there. Omg the ?Boomin? Beef Rendeng? was astonishingly delicious. It was very filling as well. When I ordered the food I was extremely... hungry and now I feel full and also I don?t feel any stomachache that you would usually feel after eating a curry meal. It wasslow-cooked beef over extremely delicious rice. I was quite a bit skeptical as a first time customer to order beef curry and Iusually go with tofu in curry as many places cannot make the beef taste tender and flavorful. I was so shocked that the beefdidn?t smell like beef (I don?t like smell of beef), and it was so tasty and fully cooked. I am already hooked on this meal. Ihope that this lovely Indonesian restaurant have more beef food in the future in their menu. The staff were very nice andpersonable when I called to order the food and receive the food. Highly recommend this place. Let?s just say, the best foodplace so far in entire Boston. This is a takeout place btw but I don?t mind since I usually order takeout anyways. How lucky???? am I that they just opened near my building! Brownie points for using eco-friendly dinnerware for takeout and being anenvironment friendly restaurant ???????? Update: I recently had ?burgundy braised beef? in a catering event by this restaurantat Elan Union Market and realized how delicious the food was. So I ordered it for dine in and also saw the new cute diningchairs they have set for both inside and outside the restaurant. I highly also recommend this food besides the boomin? beefrendang. We ordered six entrees: Beef Rendang, Red Glazed Pork, Tamarind Chicken, eggplant, spicy veggie stew, and Pulpo (Octopus). Each... dish was as the restaurant?s name suggests, very flavorful, great with rice. I especially liked the octopus, which was cooked tothe perfect doneness, not too tough or too raw. It can also be served as an appetizer as I paired it with laver crackers and myguests loved it! All the dishes were very easy to reheat too. Forgot to order the shrimp curry, will try it next time! It says something about a restaurant when you spend the next few weeks craving the meal you had there (we shared the black... pepper pork, the eggplant, the beef stew-like dish, burgundy beef I think it's called, and the tamarind chicken.) It wasseriously SO SO good and I think that pork is my new favorite take-out meal. And so different from the other options out there,they're not kidding that the flavors are amazing. Love this place! We?ve had Flavor Boom at least a dozen times, and love everything we?ve tried ? which is pretty much every dish they offer! It?s... impossible to pick a favorite dish. Our 7 and 9 year old kids especially love the Boomin? Beef Rendang, Burgundy Braised Beef,and Red-Glaze Pork. Last night we got their family-style entrees. Portions are very generous, and flavors are bold and leave youcraving more. I also love that most items are free from dairy and gluten ? which we try to avoid due to some food sensitivities.We only wish we could get them to open up a Flavor Boom a little closer to home! Really great food! Glad to have more Asian fast foods in the area. I enjoyed the marbled tea egg and the tangy tamarind chicken.... The burgundy braised beef had rlly nice spices! Will be coming back to try other items :) friendly service as well Read more
An unassuming storefront for a ?restaurant? that only does take out, delivery or catering. We ordered 3 bowls, burgundy braised... beef (kids meal), spicy chicken karahi and the tangy tamarind chicken. - The burgundy beef definitely reminded me of my mom?sown slow braised beef stew. Great combo of sweet and savory flavors. So good my 9 month old loved it! - The spicy karahi has aspicy kick that keeps you wanting more! - The tamarind chicken didn?t have enough of a tamarind flavor for me, more turmericheavy but still good. All the protein was served over white sticky rice which makes the portion they come in filling enough forone person. What I would do next time add/wish I had, was a side of pickled veggies or a side salad to give my protein heavymeal some vegetables. Super friendly customer service. Read more
My son and I stopped in for some "healthier" take out. We were greeted by a very friendly person, who we believe is the owner. ... He guided us through each of the dishes and even gave us a few samples. Everything was amazing. Fresh, clean, soooo tasty -andwhat a welcoming ambiance/environment! Definitely recommend! We each got "regular" sized bowls - they look small (especially inthe photos) but are actually quite big and filling! Read more
