Tried this place out for the first time today. Overall a good experience. The restaurant is bright and a pleasant change from... what it was before. The food is a bit on the pricey side, more than other breakfast restaurants in the city and the food wasgood. Excellent portions. I did have a problem with my eggs, they came out hard and rubbery when I ordered them over easy, butonce the staff found this out, I had new eggs at my table in less than five minutes. The real issue here, was that it took overten minutes before I could tell a staff person about the issue with my eggs. The service isn't great. We were often left alone, not once asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks and once we asked for a refill, it took a while before we got it. So, overallpretty good food, a good atmosphere, just not great service. I'll try again, assuming it was just an off day - the eggs in thephoto were the bad ones. Read more

Small disclaimer - do not go out for brunch in uptown the Sunday of Halloween weekend if you're expecting a fast experience. We... realized this when we were in too deep with 3 kids. Overall, we had a good experience with all things considered. I had thefried chicken Benedict and my husband one of their skillets (after being told way too late that they were out of French toast -totally not our lovely server's fault). Both were delicious and portioned well. Our two big kids got the rainbow pancakes. Andalthough fun, neither loved them because of the sour after taste (maybe from the food colouring?). Our server was fantastic andwent the extra mile checking on us during our extra long brunch event (see note above). Other than brunch becoming lupper, itwas a good experience. Enough that I would be willing to go back when I want a slightly fancier brunch than our usual brunchclassic that you can get done cheap and well at a bunch of places in KW. Read more

Best brunch spot in KW hands down. We got the whole 9 yards - sweet, savoury, freshly squeezed OJ, and the home fries were... actually fresh, crispy, and seasoned! Quality of food is 20 out of 10. I moved from Toronto and the aesthetic makes me feellike I never left. Owner came to check on us who was a super nice gentleman. Service was amazing. Highly recommend. I willdefinitely be back! We went to Pür and Simple on a weekend late lunch time. Their hours are 7am-3pm, Monday-Sunday. We were lucky to get in before... their kitchen closed. We were seated with menus. We didn’t want to eat too much since it was so late already, so we got anAvocado Toast ($16.5) to share. The avocado toast was okay, I’ve had better, but the home fries were crispy and tasty. I addedsalt to it and then it was perfect. For drinks we got the Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice ($6.5) and the Pür Mimosa ($7). Theywere both good, the orange juice was a little more on the sour side, and the mimosa tasted more like orange juice. I understandthat they were trying to close, but it did feel like our waiter was constantly rushing us. The food is on the higher end interms of price but it was only okay for us. Maybe it was just what we picked or an off-day, this time it was just an okayexperience. Read more

Popular breakfast spot in Waterloo. The staff were very friendly and attentive, it can get busy enough to slow down service a... little bit. The menu had a unique selection of breakfast and lunch options that you don't normally see, such as includingblueberry and chocolate chip pancakes together. Decent sized portions not sure if it is worth the value but definitely worth atry. Read more

Being pure vegetarian, we were double minded before visiting the place but it was a right choice to visit Pur & Simple for... birthday brunch on a Sunday Morning! The vibe was amazing. Food was very delicious. We ordered Vegan Avocado Toast, Santa FeBenedict, Garden Fresh Skillet, Red Velvet Buttermilk Pancake, Chocolate Macchiato, Hot Chocolate and Mango Orange Shake. Priceis higher than other brunch restaurants but worth for the kind of an experience. We were served by Wendy and she was veryfriendly and humble. Loved the place! Read more

Atmosphere is awesome, everything else not so much. Service: It took us 5 tries to flag down a waiter (two attempts were met... with "sorry I'm not your server" and "I'll be back in a sec" only to not come back). This place was way understaffed on aSaturday breakfast/brunch. We also never got a drink menu after being seated. On top of that, it took us over 30 mins to get ourfood. Food: I've heard good things about Pur&Simple's sweet breakfasts, but don't bother with the savoury ones. The Black&Bluewas alright, but the portion is smallr and more expensive than other breakfast options in KW. My partner got the lox avocadotoast and the poached egg was HARD (see pic attached - not a single drop of liquidly egg yolk?!) We considered sending it backbut decided against it since the service was so slow and we were not willing to wait another 20 mins for a replacement. Price:slightly higher than other breakfast places in the area for worse/comparable quality. However, it's not unreasonable by anymeans. Atmosphere: Really nicely lit and decorated, probably the saving grace of this restaurant. Overall: 2/5 bc of verymediocre food and slow service but +1 for vibe. Read more

Got takeout during lockdown, was quoted for 20 minute wait, ended up being around 40 minutes. Ordered French toast with fruit... and black&blue. We didn’t complain at all for the wait as I understand they could be understaffed. However, when I went home(8 minute drive) to eat the food, not only was the food cold, but half of the dish was missing for black and blue as we did notget the pancakes. Also, no condiments were in the bag (no ketchup, jam, salt or anything). I called in to report that I wasmissing half my order, and this is where the waitress’ reaction made me feel the need to write this review. She said there wasnothing she could do in terms of refunds or credit and the only thing I could do was drive all the way back for them to make thepancakes for me. I asked for the manager and she said: “we don’t have management right now, they won’t be in until done inresumes in February “ How could a restaurant operate with no management for a MONTH??? Overall food was decent, nothing superspecial. A little overpriced but still worth it for the nice interior if you were dining in. But what is this takeoutprocedure??? The waitress was extremely firm on the fact that no matter what I would not be able to speak to any managementuntil dine in reopens and she could not do anything about the missing order unless there was management.
