The food was tasty but the atmosphere made me so uncomfortable I won't return. The music lyrics were explicit and offensive to... women. The sound track was not family friendly, not work appropriate, and misogynistic. Read more

Stopped here on my way back from a Wholesale run. 1st time visitor. The food is absolutely exquisite and there were some nice... phat beats pumping while enjoying my repast. I think I'll become a regular. Read more

went late at night - pretty decent sandwich I would get it again but not at that price. Took roughly 20 minutes for two... sandwiches and a milkshake that just tasted like melted icecream and water. Overall impressed with sandwiches though! Read more

A friend just ordered from this place off of an app. Got the West Coast Smash bowl. The "avocado smash" is green gloop, not a... fresh avocado in sight. The "fresh greens" is yellowed shredded iceberg lettuce. There is a small crumble of feta, I had tosearch through the bowl to find a morsel of it. And the chicken seems slippery like the kind you would find in a pre madeplastic bag. Doesn't even taste like the Smoked Peach Vinaigrette was put on it. Barely any quinoa, paid extra for mushroomsand they seem dehydrated and are very thin. I'm not sure what their other menu items are like but at least make thedescriptions accurate to what we are paying for. I definitely would not recommend. Also it cost $15.00 and the container wasonly half full of ingredients. No bueno. Read more

Great little place to get some vegan food. We went at a non-peak time which was nice. The mushroom madness poutine is pretty... good and totally vegan (cheese, gravy, etc). Very cool atmosphere with the music with good speakers to get that bass feel. Veryclean spot and friendly staff. Would love to see a compost bin in here with the recycling and waste bins. Read more

We visited Meltwich Waterloo on a Friday night, just after 7:00pm. The menu boasts a variety of melted cheese / grilled cheese... offerings, including poutine, Mac and Cheese, tater tots, soups, a few 'spiked shakes' and tap (drink) offerings. There is avegan menu section and some gluten free accommodations are available. Visibility at the Waterloo location, after dark, in thewinter is an issue. Nestled in, among a strip of other restaurants and retailers on King St. the location is visible as you aredriving by, but takes some calculation to determine when you arrive as you are walking through the concrete passageway to accessthe front door. There is minimal signage on the door, and the interior was dark, on the night that we rolled up, so we had toback up and check the overhead neon signs to know which unit, among the strip of eateries we were entering. The interior wasdark / lit like a bar. It was bright enough to see, once inside, but somewhat uninviting from the exterior. The majority of thelayout of the restaurant is kitchen and prep area with a lean strip of tables along one wall and a modest seating area in thefront, at the window. The set up felt congested when we walked in, and it seems that persons with mobility devices, scooters orstrollers might have to disturb other diners just to access the order/pay area of the main prep station. Once at the cash theywould definitely have to go near to the washroom entrances in the back, in order to turn around to head back into the restaurantto find seating - which, if the place is busy, would be hard to come by. The variety of age groups, inside Meltwich (on aFriday night at 7:15pm) demonstrated that a variety of people (of varying age groups) want the Meltwich experience, but themusic that was playing indicated that Meltwich is geared towards a younger - perhaps university aged crowd (yes, they are inWaterloo). I raise the issue of the music because it was uncomfortable. It was so uninviting that I w Read more

I absolutely LOVE Meltwich. I've only tried the one in Mississauga. So when I saw that they opened one in Waterloo....I had to... go. And boy was I glad I did. I met Howie who was absolutely fantastic. As I was overwhelmed with excitement with my choiceselection, he was patient and took the time to recommend me items based on my current mood. Hungry!!! I got the big melt burgerand a poutine even though I went for a Meltwich. Tyson made my food and it was PERFECTION!! Both gentlemen made my experience sogreat and not only will I go back. But I've already told everyone who would listen about how good the food and service was.Highly recommend. ???????? Read more

Great place to get good quality grilled cheese. Their bread, cheese, customizations and overall presentation of the grilled... cheese are great. Would suggest going on Tuesdays as they have the $3 classic deal. Each table also had a decent bottle of hotsauce on it. Read more
