Excellent frozen custard, I plan on coming back to try the Chicago dog. Edit: I came back here to try the burger, fries, and... cheese curds. The service was quick and all the food was fresh and hot. The Freddy's in Waterloo goes above and beyond! Our order was messed up when it was delivered by Door Dash. I called Freddy's,... and one of the employees was going off her shift--she said, "I'll just drop off another order to your home"... then she broughtit over and wouldn't even take a TIP!!! Wow. OK , I get this is another fast food burger joint. But the smash burger concept is a fun twist. And these smash burgers are... done really well. They have the right ground beef mix for a good crispy edge burger. The custard is also pretty spot on. Pretty light on the onion rings when substituted for the shoe string fries. I was in Cedar Falls for work and decided to try this restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the money. It... being my first visit, the staff were helpful in explaining, and recommending menu items. I ended up having the double steakburger California style, and their signature turtle concrete desert item. It was excellent. Their fry sauce is reminiscent of In& Out Burger, and their shoestring fries I would say are better than Steak & Shake's. Their beef patties are thin like Steak andShake's which I really enjoyed. For those like me who enjoy a bit of spice, they offer a jalapeno fry sauce which I added to myburger and ate my fry's with.
