Went for take out lunch today and ordered the avocado roll. It was delicious and the staff as always were very polite and... helpful. I've orded the shrimp tempura and yellow tail rolls as well. Everything I have ordered has always come out amazing andcorrect. Read more
We’ve been regulars at this no frills sushi place for over a decade and continue to think it’s one of the best places for... fresh fish in DC. They aren’t competing with the newer and higher end spots in DC which is part of the charm. But executionand quality of fish is top notch. Service and politeness is always spot on too. The dine-in options appears to be much morelimited compared to pre-pandemic. If you’re living on or visiting the Hill, this neighborhood spot should be on your shortlist. Read more
One of the better sushi spots in DC near Capitol Hill. This place is tiny! I definitely don’t recommend this place if you are... planning to visit this place with a big group. They have several tables and you can also sit at the bar. I ordered sushi andsashimi gold platters. The place was packed and took a while to get both orders. The quality of sashimi and sushi were prettygood. I wouldn’t say this place is better than sushi taro or nakazawa, but it is still good for the price even though theirprice went up dramatically since my last visit. I was frustrated that they didn’t serve the sushi right away and waited untilanother sashimi platter to be made. They should’ve just served it right away. Other than that I had a very pleasant experienceand the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout the dinner service. Read more
Stiff competition with Rayburn Cafeteria sushi, but this takes the cake. Prices are commensurate with quality, so thank goodness... for that MRA increase. Helps ease the pain of those long markup days when you start questioning the decisions in life thatbrought you to this moment. Read more
I have had many wonderful in-restaurant experiences pre-pandemic, and I was thrilled to see they survived this long. However... today I ordered takeout from Sushi Capitol for the first time - ordered 3 servings of omakase, miso soups, and one seaweed saladand had it delivered via Uber eats. Sadly, they fail to tell you when ordering delivery that the omakase platter hasdramatically changed. Instead of what was previously a 3-piece appetizer + ~20 pieces of top notch nigiri, I received an 8-pieceroll of ground tuna (something I would never order if given the choice), 9 pieces of nigiri, egg and fish eggs. The nigiri isstill good, and good quality, but I paid exactly the same price $50 ea for these platters, plus a delivery premium to receive afar inferior product both in size and quality. I understand that restaurants have had to cut costs because of business beingdown due to the pandemic, and I probably still would have bought something, but I’m writing this review primarily because theydon’t tell you what you’re paying for before making the purchase for delivery. The sushi was delicious in spite of allthis, so I still recommend, just be aware what you’re buying. Read more

I brought my mom here for omakase (the first time she ever had it) and had such a magical experience. The food was so so good (I... didn’t even like some of the dishes before but upon trying them here really liked them eg uni). The service was IMPECCABLE.The food was never ending and amazing. The sushi chef answered all our questions and more. Definitely on the expensive side butworth it to celebrate a nice occasion! Read more
