We were lucky enough to go here to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. Our large group was treated to a magnificent, fun-filled... night. The food was delicious, the cocktails were outstanding, plus the added bonus of great music and dancing. The mostoutstanding part of the evening though had to be the remarkable staff. Starting with Carlos, everyone made us feel like family.Yasmani knew how to get our party started and Mayra made sure the drinks and food kept coming. We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner at Scarlet Oak on a Friday in the fall, for about 30 people. Brian reserved the entire... outdoor patio for our party and arranged the tables, place cards and menus according to a seating arrangement we provided theday of the event. The space was perfect for that size event and probably could have comfortably held another 10-20 people withroom to mingle and stand. The food was delicious and we worked out the menu a month or so before. Brian provided us a bunch ofoptions and worked with us when we wanted to explore another fish option. We had a buffet style meal for dinner and platedappetizers that the adults and the children absolutely loved. The burrata salad, bucatini, salmon and fried chicken were thestars of the show! Visited this establishment while on a w/e getaway to DC. The location was great, food was really good. We tried the burger &... Prime rib sandwich. The top of the bun was a bit hard/dry but overall the food was good. Drinks were also pretty solid. Ourwaitress was also good & had some great recommendations. The reason for 4 stars is due to the extremely loud music playing. I donot like going to a semi-nice restaurant and having to yell across a table or keep asking a waitress what was said. The server was not attentive at all. It was not busy, but the server carried on a 10 minute conversation with a guest while we... were waiting to order a second round of drinks -- we didn't end up getting them because of how long the service took. There wasalso someone smoking a pungent cigar which caused one party to leave and as someone who is asthmatic, it was stuffy to breathe.The food was mediocre and overpriced. After seeing all the good reviews of Scarlet Oak, my partner and I wanted to give it a try. However, based on what we had seen... online, we walked away feeling just okay about this place, and probably aren't likely to go back. I would like to say right off,that the Detroit style pizza we had was actually quite tasty, we tried two different kinds - both good, and I liked the saucesthat it came with. The wings we shared, were just okay. But what really threw me through a loop was the vibe, which it seemedlike they hadn't really decided on. The decor says contemporary American, and the main menu is pizza and sandwiches, but theloud Spanish music and the sushi menu we were handed didn't really follow through. The service also left something to bedesired, as between ordering and paying the bill, we didn't see anyone except the runner with our food. All in all, the food wasokay, and the vibe was off but sitting outside or perhaps doing a take away from here might have led to a better experience. Read more
