Reviews for 1861 Fine Dining in Washington, UT
Just went to 1861 for our wedding Anniversary and it was an incredible experience! Yes this restaurant is in a living facility... however it is clearly stated that it?s in this facility. We started at the Bees Knees bistro for a couple of cocktails andKelly was definitely the Bees Knees. She answered all of our questions and was a pleasure to speak with. All of the staff thatcame into the bar area to retrieve drinks were very friendly. All were professional and polite. Answered any question myhusband and I asked. We then went into 1861 for dinner. It is small plates we ordered the white crab bisque to start. Weshared this and so glad we did it was very rich but so delicious. We then shared the 1861 Chronicle menu (the testing menu). Please keep in mind this menu changes daily. Tonight we enjoyed grilled pita with garlic hummus, butter nut squash soup, endivesalad, beef short rib, scallops and for dessert it was a piece of opera cake. As it was our anniversary we also received macronsto take home. Our waitress was Teashla she was impeccable. Polite, professional and very courteous. We met Ken the head chefmy comment to him was ?why drive to Las Vegas for fine dining when we are lucky enough to have 1861?. We will definitely bereturning. Thank you to all of the staff at 1861 for a wonderful meal and great experience. If you like good food go. Theambiance of 1861 is definitely NOT assisted living ambiance. If that is your biggest hang up about going here just go and don?tthink about it. The food was delicious, flavorful and so worth every penny. Thank you 1861 it was great! Read more
The Seabass on mashed potatoes was delicious. Really nice and quiet. Everything we ordered was good. Staff was all polite... especially our waitress Somerlin. (Don't recall the spelling sorry Somerlin) sat at a nice table by the windows. Read more
I had heard this was a great restaurant and took some friends there while on a girl?s trip. The experience is very odd and was... off-putting to me. The restaurant should have an outside entrance from the street so you don?t have to walk past the front deskand dining rooms for the retirement center. All of the food came from down the hallway when we expected it to come from thekitchen in the restaurant. The kitchen must be shared between the eating establishments in the retirement center. Teshla was ourwaitress and did a good job. We ordered wedge salads which were small romaine bunches with Caesar dressing and shrimp - just ok.We also ordered a portobello mushroom and tuna small plates. These two dishes were pretty good. We decided not to order anythingelse and went to Pig?s Ear for a fantastic meal. For me, the fine dining restaurant in a retirement home didn?t make theexperience feel special. Read more
Everything we tried did not disappoint! We started off with the pita bread & hummus, that didn?t last long enough haha. Then the... wedge salad, very light and full of flavor. My husband went with the New York Strip I believe, he really enjoyed and was cookedjust how he likes it. I went with the Wagyu, the cauliflower purée was sooo good. The Wagyu itself was a bit over cooked for myliking but did not disappoint. We finished off with the Creme Brûlée & The Cheesecake. Brûlée was good but the Cheesecakedefinitely topped it. Our waitress was very attentive and on top of things. Great service overall! 10/10 recommend as we willdefinitely be coming back for more date nights. Read more
It was part of the retirement community and served the needs of the residents. I found the food disappointing, salty and the... portions were teeny- tiny. The creme Brulee was the creamiest I've ever eaten, however. Read more
We have gone twice and the first time we went was a five star experience!!! The second time we went unfortunately wasn?t the... same great experience. I attached the pictures from our first visit. The second visit they were out of multiple items on theirmenu. Two people in our party ordered the duck but it came out burnt. We ordered the shrimp noodles again which came out overcooked and soaked in the sauce to the point even the waiter said the noodles looked way too dark. They provided another thing ofplain noodles to mix in but those noodles were soggy and not any better than the originals. The veggies with the chicken weordered were burnt and too hard to chew. Our service both times was extremely great. I believe the major downfall was theamazing experience with everything including the food we had the first time compared to the second experience and howdisappointing the food preparation/taste was and lack of menu items.
