Was in the area enjoying ciders was looking for home cook food and someone recommended el Habanero . First not many food option... in the area so I give them a break . I have mix feeling about this place in one part am happy to have a Mexican restaurant inthe area but am not thrilled with there menu and preparation. They got some things right and others they can work on . Rice wasso bland need more flavor or bigger portion . Salad look very sad just lettuce with nothing else make the plate look boring ,they say you eat with your eyes first . Also being a Mexican restaurant they should have Mexican beer or at least Mexicandrinks if they did , they never offered. What I enjoyed was hand made tortillas excellent delicious. Salsa was Good but needspicy ones . The decor can use better upgrade make look more festive . Am glad they are there but they need better platepresentation better decoration . Great presentation will make the price feel justifiable. I will visit again to try otheroption on menu hope they read this review and improve on some areas . Much success ! Read more

Horrible... It checked all the boxes for an awful restaurant. If you're latino and you've had mexican food in the city, this... food was TRASH. I had flautas and the beans were watery and salty, chicken was dried and stale, and the rice and bean portionwas like a spoonful of it. OVERLY priced and also waited an HOUR to get the food. Never coming back, and not recommended. Read more

First, the food: overall food was salty, small portion and does a disservice to Mexican food. Easily the worse mexican... restaurant I've been too. Steak was salty and dry. They definitely opt for cheap steak. Beans was salty as well AND, I get thatsome cultures make their beans more liquidity, but this was beyond that and was more like soup with barely any beans in theplate. Rice was ok but it being the cheapest thing in the plate, why the hec would they only give you enough for 3 spoonfulls. To make things worse, our food was cold or lukewarm at best when we received it which brings me to my nextpoint. Second: The service was horrible, most at fault by the people in the kitchen. For a group of 7, we waited close to anhour for our food to arrive which is unacceptable no matter how many other people are ordering online or at the restaurant. Asecond group of friends came into the restaurant to eat in, about 25min after we were aleady seated and they receiced their foodFIRST. I noticed they ordered tacos, burritos or chicken fingers for the kids. The kitchen definitely prioritized easy quickbites over meals or platters. Lastly, the price: considering the portion size, sub par atmosphere, and horrible food, safe tosay ill never co.e back here again. I rather drive an hour back home and wait to eat some good Mexican food. Read more

Incredible food. Try the poblano burrito and the tacos. The guac is also fantastic. The restaurant is clean and smells fresh... and staff are super friendly and helpful. Next time will be dining in and getting dessert! Read more

Local?s best secret! We came to weekend gateway in one of the resorts and went to different restaurants. Some of them very... expensive. And the habanero was so far the best. Their food is amazing! Authentic with affordable prices. Read more
