Came here on to check out a catfish restaurant. Didn't know what to expect but reviews seemed good. Only opened 2 day a week.... Arrived at opening time to get on list. Had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. As with most eateries, staffing is the issue.Service was friendly. Seemed like each server (3) was tasked with some other duty than waiting on tables. We saw one that wasmaking hush puppies and another making tea. We ordered the catfish fillets with fries and slaw for one and baked potato andwhite beans for another. Fish was excellent with cornmeal coating. Hush puppies were good. A little large size and a couple werea little rubbery inside. Fries e baked potato were excellent. Slaw (mayonnaise) was okay and white beans were excellent. Servingsizes were small for price of meal. Filets were ok with one large piece and looks like half of another piece. Fixings wereserved in small styrofoam cups. Dinning area was clean and orderly. Lighting was a little dim. Lots of Halloween decorationsinside and out. Be prepared, it is a little pricey here, but so it is everywhere. Get ready to drop about $25 per head. Read more

It was ok, I've had a lot better. My wife and I both had the combo plate of trout and catfish. The catfish was better than the... trout. Maybe it was just me but both the trout and white beans had a funny taste. Read more

Be still my grease-saturated heart. I am southern born and raised, but still never been a huge fan of the almighty catfish, but... Granny Fishes' turned that all around. I put on a brave face and ordered the fried catfish, and it did not disappoint. It wasfresh, hot, and oh so crispy. The coleslaw was crisp and tasty, and the fried mushrooms- to die for!!! I went back the verynext weekend with my kiddo who was mad she wasn't invited the first time, and had myself another helping of their catfish, thistime with some chicken tenders, and they too were so good. But on this trip, it was the onion rings that made my taste buds do ahappy dance. Thin, crispy, and fried to perfection. I don't care how much artery clogging it induces, Granny Fishes' is a tastylittle restaurant with amazing food, a charming middle-of-nowhere coziness, and friendly and courteous service! Read more
