Stopped for a quick bite on a Saturday night with my wife and our friends. Had burgers, chili dogs and fries. We are kind of ppl... who like to have a little conversation and enjoy our meal, not just chowing it down. Our waitress made it impossible for us byacting cheesy and sleazy. All that honey talk is not our cup of tea. Her constant tapping on my shoulder wasn?t welcomed andwhen I shrugged away, she didn?t take the hint. The toxic atmosphere prevented us from enjoying our meal. This place needs someleadership and basic training. Read more
Sarah was amazing!!!! Nicest server I've met in awhile now. She was on top of making sure we got our drinks and food in a timely... manner. She checked up on us several times to make sure everything was good and to see if we need anything. Super nice.Definitely my new favorite coney because of her!!! Read more
Today our server was Betty W and we had an awesome time. In today?s world it is hard to go anywhere and receive good service?... let alone a diner. But Betty made it a greater experience than even fine dining restaurants these days. She was attentive, kind,and on the ball the entire time. We will make the drive back (45 minutes) just to come to this Coney Island to see Betty again.Thank you Betty for your amazing customer service! We need more people like you!! It's a little dated and run down inside, but the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is as good as ever. It's one of the... limited few left, so it needs to persevere. I still go here on every visit back to Michigan since I moved. National Coney Islandchili is still better than the others (especially the Ohio chili). They are in need of extra staff, so if you go during a busytime, just know what to expect. We went for brunch on Saturday, and it was relatively quiet and we had no issues. We typically love National for the coneys and hanis, but I was really craving breakfast and got their french toast with... strawberries. It was so good, amazing comfort food! But most of all I love the servers and their hospitality. You always feelwelcomed and taken care of. It truly feels like a local joint where you feel at home. Read more
As a tourist, I enjoyed this experience. They are only local so you can't get anywhere. Fun, nice, clean. You can sit down and... have a waitress for a comparable price of a fast food place. SO WORTH IT! As for taste... Good. I'm from Texas and it was tasty!I'm not going to say this is the best hot dog I have ever had but a fun INEXPENSIVE place to eat but filling and good! Food was horrible! There is a point the cooks should just throw out the fries that have been sitting too long! Redipping them in... the oil to warm them up and then serve to customers is disappointing. However our waitress was super nice and friendly. Read more
