Irish poet is such a lovely bar especially for a Sunday football, or any sporting event you like to watch. Authentic Irish,... which is always different & pleasant to have in Long Island. My husband & I Terry came this Sunday & Geraldine was the bartender& she was so sweet, attentive, quick, & just overall polite. She made good suggestions & made sure our drinks were filled & wewere satisfied. The menu is very good especially for a more bar type of vibe, people may be looking for. Went there for dinner. Food was great our server Elana was excellent. Yes Lisa Elana is bubbly and very sweet.

We came here because the restaurant next door was snippy and it was indeed a happy accident! The New England clam chowder was... excellent. Very fresh and lots of clams. Most places give you mostly potatoes but that was not the case here. The waitress wasgreat. Very friendly and very fast. We ordered lunch and for two people, it came out to close to $60 for lunch. Manhattan hasindeed arrived on Long Island! Regardless, we had a nice time and would come back again. The restaurant's food was great, theservice was great and the interior was very clean. Nice place, clean, friendly staff. The bar fills up real fast but they have a decent number of tables available. Food was... decent and not outrageously priced. Bathrooms are clean. Parking in the back is better than parking in the front. You won'tregret spending a Sunday afternoon here watching a game. At the same time you could come here for some decent pub food with thewife and kids without having the bar side feel on top of you. I also hear they have a space you can rent out for occasions, Idon't have any personal experience with that though. Read more
The atmosphere is that of an upscale Manhattan Bar with the feel of a small town bar. The bartender Herbie is friendly and... service is great. Food is exceptional, the Fish & Chips was crispy and fluffy, and tasted delicious. It is always an enjoyabletime. Read more
The best pub in the Wantagh area! Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Their pretzel is so soft and served with delicious... beer cheese. Their Mac and cheese is creamy and delicious. Strongly recommend their cosmos! Can?t wait to go back. Read more
Irish poet in wantagh Ave in wantagh is great place to meet and eat. We started with the big pretzel, fantastic! I had the pork... Schnitzel with homemade potato pancakes and applesauce - great size and taste . All was good ! Lots of parking in both the frontand back of restaurant. The place has tables on one side and full long bar on the other. Service was wonderful after beinggreeted when first walking in. Read more
