Menu for La Plaza Historic Hotel & Restaurant in Walsenburg, CO

I made a reservation for this hotel months ago. I arrived on the day, Friday night, and found that it was closed for... reservations and had been since May! That is all well and good, I suppose. But a responsible innkeeper would have made an effortto advise me of the closure and at least suggested alternatives particularly when they had plenty of time to do it. We were leftwith traveling another 30 miles to find a room. IF there were negative stars available, I would have picked it. In reply to theowner below, I booked the hotel directly by phone with the hotel and provided all the information requested. I found La Plaza through a Google search. Double checked with yelp because when I walked up on a Friday night at 5pm the place... was empty. Yelp didn't have it listed in top 15 restaurants. Getting beat out by Arby's. I decided to walk in and feel it outbefore sitting down. Nothing but 5 stars from here on out. Lovely welcome and service by Sarena. Prime rib was perfect. Potatoesand veggies...delicious. Salad...crisp and a good blend of greens. Why this place wasn't packed on a Friday night is ludicrous. A couple of truly beautiful paintings on the wall as well. Stopped by the restaurant for dinner on our drive back down to Texas. This is a hidden gem! The hotel itself is full of history... and so unique. We sat outside and the back patio is perfect, especially during these CoVid times. I hate to say I was sosurprised, but the food was amazing! We got the crispy brussel sprouts appetizer, the chicken parmesan, and the fettuccineAlfredo with shrimp. The food was simply delicious. The star of the night was actually the Alfredo - the sauce was soincredibly light and the shrimp cooked perfectly. The wait staff were all so helpful and friendly. Everyone was respectful ofsocial distancing guidelines, and we chatted with the owner about the building after eating. Would love to find any reason tostop here again!! Read more

The hospitality of The La Plaza is impeccable! We arrived late on our bikes and the staff rearranged the patio so we could... enjoy a few birthday beers. The accommodations are excellent for a historic hotel and the owner is very well versed in itshistory! We will stay here again! Read more

We have had our employee Christmas party there the last 3 years and they never fail to impress. The chef is outstanding, food is... prepared perfectly! Staff are courteous and friendly, very accommodating to our needs. Beautiful atmosphere and great drinks. Read more
