Had high hopes, but couldn?t really get with this thing place. It?s street food that wants to be fine dining. The selection is... not that vast, so a menu board would have been helpful. Instead we found a letter size print out taped to the counter at theregister. As for the food itself, I wish I could say I was more impressed. Good crunch and coating on the sandwich, but oddtexture to the chicken all around. I had the etoufee. I have to say first that I loved the building and the mural on the wall behind the restaurant, very bright and vibrant. I ... ended up here strictly because of the line. I figured if the line is long maybe the food is good. Loved the music playingbecause Walnut Creek could use some flavor. Unfortunately I did not realize that the chicken sandwich was thigh meat which isnot my favorite but I said well maybe it's good. I Unfortunately realized it was not good at all. Fried poorly & did not tastegreat. It was pricey for the value of the food. I hear from many people who have eaten here and they said it was veryunderwhelming. First time at HotBoys and it did not disappoint. The service was friendly, helpful, and fast. I didn?t wait too long for my food... despite it being lunch hour on a weekend and the food was delicious! I tired the chicken sandwich which was a great combo ofcrispy and juicy, the Mac n cheese (unbelievably creamy!!!), and the bonuts (a donut thing that was crispy on the outside andsoft on the inside). Inside the restaurant was a bright, colorful vibe, and there were old video games to play on variousconsoles. I?ll say, the only downside is probably the price. Otherwise, a great experience.
