Reviews for Toyo Sushi in Walnut Creek, CA
Clea nliness: Really gross to see mixing fish in nasty looking plastic bus pan!. Makes one wonder what's been in it. Please use... stainless hotel pan. Floor was not swept from at least night before and needs hood deep clean. Read more
All I can say is: wow. As someone who has only ever had sushi in Nebraska and Colorado, this sushi is on a whole 'nother level.... The portions are HUGE, so two rolls will be enough to fill you up. The plum wine was phenomenal, and the calamari was perfect.Just overall incredible sushi joint that I would recommend to any sushi lover. Read more
Huge selection of very creative rolls, prices seem high, but the portion size justify the price. Wow, lots of food, fresh and... tasty. Read more
The food was amazing. Sushi was generous and tasty. Excellent service. This is my go to sushi place now.
I will start of by saying the tea was good! The windows and table could have used a good clean. Service was slow the entire... time. The quality was poor and not so fresh. Rolls do not have much content..more rice in the rolls. Save your money or youcan eat next door at Mexican restaurant! Read more
All specialty rolls are $15+/- and quite a large serving size. Downside of the dining experience is (1) that it is kind of slow... service because in restaurant dining orders are cued alongside with ?To Go? food orders, (2) I sat next to the window and edgeof the window has been cleaned in quite a while - eek. I have been coming here many times for a great sushi menu. We always ate sushi only. While they have the traditional sushi... rolls, they also have many ?crunchy? rolls with tempura crumbs, tempura shrimp or soft shel crab. They have ?deep fried? rollsthat are dipped in tempura batter and quickly dipped in hot oil. Very delicious! But today i decided to try other dishes fromthe menu, like the tempura plate, Chicken Karaage, soft shell blue crab and nigiri sushi. The crab was crunchy and tasted fresh, not sure about the dipping sauce it came with. The tuna and salmon nigiri was good, fresh. The tempura was also good, with theshrimp being the best. Some of the veggies were too big and too raw/hard in the center. But the chicken karaage was the bigdisappointment. The look and color was not appealing at all, it almost looked liked it was just sprinkled with starch. It wasnot crispy, it was rubbery, and not tender enough. So my recommendation is, stick to sushi at this place. It excellent for that.Service is also very good. Read more
