A great place for classy pizza and Detroit pizza. A very homey little place with limited seating and a limited menu but man, is... it a mighty one. Their classic cheese pizza never fails but I got the Hawaiian pizza (detroit style) this time. This place smelled great so I had to stop in and try! It is a pretty genuine pizza joint but the obnoxious amounts of photos of... the owner on the walls make it seem somewhat less genuine. Anyway, the god was good but not as great as it smelled. Pricesaren?t too bad and I appreciate the selection of pizza styles as well as the types of by-the-slice pizza available. This is not a place to go if you have any common food allergies. They don't have vegan cheese, they don't have gluten free... options. However, assuming you aren't bound in that way, the slices range from good to spectacular. The Detroit Deep Dish isabsolutely killer, and their pesto is very tasty as well. If you want to grab an order to go, make sure to park around thecorner at the south locust garage. Read more

Tony Gemignani is the godfather of American pizza making, and it's clearly demonstrated here at the Slice House. He showcases... his skills with many different styles of pizza, like New York, Detroit, grandma and American traditional. On top of that, theircrust may be one of the best I've ever had. However, I do have a small warning for those who have never been here before, thisis not a full size restaurant with indoor seating, but more of a take out pizza joint with only a few individual seats with acommon bar table inside and a few tables and chairs outside. As the name suggests, you can get a slice or two, but for mostpeople it's takeout, but very good takeout. Read more

Update: Returned for more, ordered a 20? pie this time, tomato source and basil. Delicious. Enjoyed the pizza here: sampled 3... slices, meatball ricotta, grandma slice and regular/ cheese slice. All was almost gone before I had a chance tophotograph?recommended. Read more

Pizza is excellent but we prefer the North Beach location. Getting take-out here has been frustrating on several visits. On... one visit the cooks and cashiers were fighting. Our visit two weeks ago was great, though. Really good pizza. Read more
