A regular for us.. great food at very fair prices. Love eating outside there. Try the pork chop picante if you like a bit of ... heat... not overwhelming but delish. Always great service and food. The outside seating from spring through the early fall has been great. I recommend almost... anything on the menu. You get AA frequent flyer rewards when you dine there, if you have you charge card registered with AAdining. Read more
The center of Wallingford has some great food choices. My favorite wasn't opening for another hour so we chose Gaetano's Tavern... on Main, after looking at a couple of posted menus in windows. Outdoor seating all neighbors each other on the street in thisrestaurant row, so we chose a sidewalk table by the door. I had to go inside to ask for service but they were happy toaccommodate us and gave attentive service throughout. The chicken lemongrass dumplings, which was one item that brought us tothe door, were really well done. Special menu drinks from the bar were as described on the menu and flavorful. We switched towine for our meals. My soft shell crab sandwich was innovative. Fried like most seafood shellfish, it was crunchy and a goodsize served on white toast with lettuce and tomato. I ate half of it on the bread and then finished the crab with a fork. Friesaccompanied the dish. The steak sandwich on focaccia bread with gorgonzola and spinach had a great presentation, but my partnerthought the meat was too rare. He likes medium well to well-done meat. I prefer rare to medium rare, but in some instances aswith a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, I only expect meat with no pink. Still, a fine choice and large enough to bring halfhome. Large interior with tables and bar seating, unique menu with an interesting variety of items and right in the middle oftown makes Gaetano's a place to go. Read more
I don't know what happened but I guess we just picked the wrong meal. Both of our meals had 0 flavor. I dumped half a shaker of... Parmesan cheese on my dish and salt just to give it flavor. Fried Mozzarella sauce tasted like preggo from the jar. Reallywasn't a good first experience. Server was great. Read more

It was a hot day out, but their outdoor seating was in the shade so it was fine to eat outside. Everyone from the hostess to... the servers were very friendly and even offered to suggest some of their favorite foods. Our server had water at the tablebefore we could even ask, which was nice since it was blisteringly hot outside. The food came out quickly with no issues, andwas good. No complaints there at all. Celebrated a birthday lunch and wasn?t disappointed. Food was tasty and well cooked. drinks were amazing and the service was... great!
