We had a double date night with some friends here and we ate outside. We love the rustic antiques and old signs all over the... restaurant. The food was amazing. I had shrimp over grits which amazing. We were all very happy with our food and theappetizers. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and coconut shrimp had a delicious jam or glaze that was to die for. So good,clean, and so friendly. I had the Cajun Sampler platter. It was very good and just the right amount of spice. A wonderful atmosphere and very attentive... wait staff. As you enter from the parking lot you feel that you're going from the tropics to a down home Louisiana experience.Don't miss the model collectible cars as you head towards your table. Really cool looking place! Great view of the Caney! Great food! Had some amazing coconut shrimp for somewhere so far from and... ocean. Great taste, crispy yet not too hard and crunchy. The Blackened chicken and crawfish alfredo was incredible! Woulddefinitely recommend. Also tried the Pecan crusted catfish, but if the other dish was a 10/10 the catfish would be more like a5/10. The fish was cooked well and taste good, but the Pecan flavor became overwhelming overtime. I knew when I ordered it thatit would be a bit different, but was definitely very pecan-y. I am traveling in the area on business and happened to find the Foglight Foodhouse online. Let me start by saying if you are... looking for fast food you should go to McDonalds. I arrived at 5:45 and was told that it would be a 45minute wait, I was finallyseated at 7:00. I was not concerned about the long wait because good food is worth waiting for and I assumed it must be goodbecause of the amount of people that were continually arriving. The atmosphere is so relaxing with the ambient lighting andbeautiful views of the water. When the hostess directed me to my seat she was very apologetic about the long wait. Once I wasseated my server, Kristen, arrived promptly and she could not have been more friendly. She immediately got my sweet tea and putin my food order. I am always hesitant to order sweet tea in new places because not everyone knows how to make good tea but itwas perfect. I ordered the Low Country Crab cake appetizer. The crab cakes were delicious. They were sweet and plump, full ofcrab meat and just the right amount of binder so that it do not cover up the crab meat flavor, perfectly crispy exterior with alight fluffy interior. I have eaten crab cakes on the coast, in the Low Country, and in many different locations and I don?tknow that these could be beat. They did not have the overbearing fishy flavor that crab cakes sometimes have. After finishing mycrab cakes I had just a few minute wait for my entree. I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything on the menusounded great. I opted for the Rock Island Ribeye cooked medium well with the Cajun blackening and paired it with asparagus andmashed potatoes. I know that medium well is not the optimal level of cooking on a steak but it is my preference. Many places arenot able to cook a steak to medium well. Edward, Ann and I want to thank you for an extraordinary dinning experience. We had held off dinning out for our anniversary... until we found just the right place that suited our special day. When we met you Wednesday and you greated us warmly and showedus around we knew we had found what we were looking for. We enjoyed this restaurant during our weekend getaway! We had the mushrooms as an appetizer, and crab cakes and pecan crusted... catfish as our entrees. We were way too stuffed to have dessert at the restaurant. We ordered bourbon pecan pie to go.Everything was delicious! Also, we ate inside because it was a pretty chilly fall evening, but the patio overlooking the waterlooked very nice. We would definitely eat here again if we're ever back in the area. Read more
