First time here?..we had the BLT and BBQ sandwich?both were yummy. The pies are the best part! Great down home place and... service. Will be going back to try the fried chicken that looked amazing! It?s a famous diner that everyone knows. Came on Sunday for lunch there are a lot of people dining after church. There?s a store... front selling Virginia peanut products and the back is the restaurant, quite large space nothing fancy just a typical diner setup. There?s buffet option and also a la cart, buffet has a lot of options as well I would go for buffet next time as it hasless wait time. Good selections from a la cart menu, and they made to order so it took a while if you have time to wait. Theportion of the food are huge. None of us could finish what we ordered. Food is delicious. Conveniently located right off of 460 in Wakefield Virginia this restaurant has it all from a buffet down to the locally grown... peanuts. The food was amazingly delicious and our waiter Nae was super awesome! She made sure we were taken care of and wasthere for every need which made the Virginia Diner experience amazing. Everything that we ate was so delicious. The sweet potatocasserole, bread pudding, and the peach cobbler was so good I had to reframe myself from eating too much. Welcoming diner. Plenty of parking - even with a camper. Service was pretty good. Biscuits and gravy was good. Big, fluffy... biscuits and hot gravy. Potatoes were old and cold. :( They need to know how to "scramble" an egg. :( Hubby got fried eggs, andwere really good. Ham is always delish. Grits had zero seasoning, and were so watery. Easy to find with plenty of parking. Has a real welcoming feeling. Staff made our dining experience feel like we were family.... Forgot to take pics of our Liver & Onions with Collards and Potato salad, Famous Fried Chicken with Green Beans & MashedPotatoes w/ Brown Gravy but believe me, it was very tasty down home cooking. Desserts were great as well. The Peanut Pie (pecanbut with peanuts) surprisingly very good. The Apple Pie was outstanding as well. Free peanut samples too. This is the second time I have stopped here to eat. The first time, we had the buffet and way before I was participating in... Google Reviews. From what I remember, the buffet was excellent. This stop the cheese burgers we ordered looked great but werenot delicious at all. Not fresh (frozen patty) and tatsed weird. I could not finish mine. The service was top notch! On a trip from the mountains of VA back to NC, we stopped in for a quick bite! We knew of this place from their well known... peanuts but decided to give it a try! Overall I was impressed! The pricing was pretty cheap considering the quality of thefood! They had a buffet as well but I had a philly cheese steak. The coffee, food, and service were excellent. We only had ham biscuits and cheese grits. Large portion grits! The grits had to... be seasoned, which is fine. The diner had a full breakfast buffet set out. Everything looked good. A gift shop is in the lobby.It features cheese straws and peanuts. All items were packaged nicely and looked appetizing.
