Inconsistency at is finest! One day they are on point; another day the rice is so uncooked that I have to throw the whole bowl... away. One day the ground beef is nicely cooked; another day is huge nasty chunks. One day the sweet plantains are perfect;another day they are so burned you can taste it. One day they give you one portion size; the other day they give you a way lessor way more. One day the cheese on the pizza empanada is nice and stringy (Mozzarella); another day is nasty, runny Americancheese. Not worth the time, price, or the constant disappointment. Read more
I thinks this used this used to be tropical Lucan chicken will, the empanada factory definatley Did Not disappoint! Immediately... greeted by a nice young guy at counter who was so healpful! Because I have never ever seen this many types of empanadas, didn?tknow where to start. We agreed on the Boricua (seasoned beef, olive onion cilantro) delicious! I just had the worst customer service experience here ever. We ordered a traditional box of 12 and the guy taking our order took... down the 12. He miscounted 3 and only ended up charging us for 9. When we recieved our order, we asked about the three missingand he printed out the order showing only 9. When we asked about getting the other three, a younger guy came from the backwhere he was making empanadas. He spoke slowly and monotone, telling us we didnt order a traditional box, we ordered 9. I triedexplaining to him that the guy taking our order didnt add in the three missing, and that we needed them re added back in. Theycharged us for another three which made the cost of the 12 empanadas $40 instead of the advertised $30. I inquired about thisand the kid tried telling me that there was an upcharge for beef, and tried to explain to us that we didnt order a traditionalbox, and that we ordered only 9. When I tried explaining to him that the order was taken incorrectly, he got frustrated with meand told me to calm down. That got me pretty heated and I further asked why we were being charged $10 additional dollars morefor a mistake that his staff did? He finally refunded us the $10 for the 3, threw the receipt at me, and asked if I was happynow. The raw disrespect of this kid was absolutely shocking to me and exacerbated, I left the restaurant. I stopped by after seeing them on a DMV run and i immediately had to bring the whole family back that night! Wake Forest, don't... sleep on these delicious hands pies of happiness! We had a variety from ham and cheese to the crazy good Cubano! And did imention the dessert options... The best it's the southern, until you try the Nutella, then you question reality after bitinginto the cheesecake, only to have your world flipped upside-down by the Romeo and Juliet. It's not just a snack, it's a journey:). All that to say... Yes, yes you should stop by, yes you should order a box, and please don't skip on the desserts? See youall again soon! Read more

Before and after photos lol. The menu had so much variety that I wasn?t sure what to pick! I personally did 4 empanadas (La... Havana, Spicy Picadillo & Cheese, Brasileiro, and Raleigh) and they were delicious and tasted so authentic! With the menu beingso large, I let one of the workers help me pick out my choices and he did a wonderful job, I wish I remembered his name :( Makesure you do the cilantro dressing! Wow! I was pleasantly surprises by this hidden hole in the wall!! The empanadas were delicious especially the chicken and... cheese! Yucca fries were delicious, everything was!! Also friendly and hospitable!!! Will come again! Read more
