I have absolutely no idea why the review of this restaurant is so high unless people who came here don't care or know what good... food tastes like. Other than the name, I would give the food and service 3 stars but given the price I'd give it 2.5 stars. Thebest way to describe the food/service is that it's a TGI Fridays level with a MUCH higher price. Maybe it's because I just had awonderful dinner at the Four Seasons the night before so I have a higher expectations but the price is pretty the same. Can Ifind a glaring fault other than the food has a lack of innovation or flavor? Not really but then I expected more from a highlyreviewed highly priced restaurant. The world famous coconut shrimps are over fried and too hard. The poke chips are stale. Thecrab and shrimp stuffed fish is over sauced with very little stuffing and the ribeye is so so. Overall it's a decent restaurantbut overpriced for what they give you so definitely avoid if you are a foodie. Read more

Absolutely fantastic! This gem is beyond terrific. If you want great food with an awesome atmosphere, then this is the place to... go. We started off getting there late, but the hostess up front was sure to keep our table open since it was just a few minutes.Start off with the coconut shrimp and a little extra sauce. This will set the tone for a great meal. Every part of theexperience was terrific, the manager Jason appears to be deeply engaged to ensure everything is moving. The ribs are a must ifyou don't enjoy fish. My wife had the swordfish and never offered me a bite. If you want dessert, the crème brûlée served ina pineapple was a great twist to bring it back to island mode before heading out. Great live music as well. Read more

Good food, open-airy atmosphere, top-notch service. Wife ordered a steak medium rare, came out medium. She said it was fine,... staff pulled it out of her that it wasn't perfect (but still very good). Manager came by and made it right. Favorite are theThai curry scallops and shrimp. Read more

Arrived earlier than our reservation and they were happy to seat us. Started with the hummus and whipped feta which was... wonderful, then moved to the special pork chop. It was amazing. We also had the mahi mahi which was great, and the sauce wasspectacular. Read more

Loved the food and ambiance! Highly recommend this restaurant. It was a very different culinary experience than any other... restaurant on the island (steak is a rare find here). Had reservations for an early Mother's Day and tried the Duo of Chipsappetizer (very good salsa, guacamole, and chips) Filet Mignon, Flatbread with filet mignon, Kona coffee crusted Ribeye,Mochiko Chicken sandwich, and for dessert Melted Chocolate Pie, Pineapple Creme Brulee, and the Pina Colada Cake. It was all sodelicious. Also had Mai Tais, Mojitos, Tommy Relaxer, and the Kua Bay Kona Brew beer. Read more

We had a great experience at Tommy Bahama Restaurant in Big Island. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming, the environment... is comfortable and relaxed. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Food is so good and fresh and drinks are delicious.Dessert was delicious! They serve complimentary bread and butter big island style. It was so good. Service was great! I wouldrecommend reservations ahead of time, because it can fill up so quickly. Dinner time is always packed !!! Price is reasonablecompared to the food quality and restaurant! Consider this spot as a fine dining restaurant rather a fast food. Highlyrecommended???????? Read more

Salmon bowl was huge and delicious! We thought they brought us two.. but they had split it for us! So nice. Coconut shrimp were... not my jam, but the lady liked them, saying they were great coconut shrimp. Shrug =) Drinks were merely okay. Nothing standoutand a little on the sweet side. Fun to add to the experience but otherwise not memorable. A more corporate vibe than wetypically find ourselves enjoying, but there are some major benefits to it - they were quick to take stuff off our bill (we hadordered sliders that were taking 30+ minutes, so they took them off and comped a drink). I mean, if you go here, you probablyknow what to expect. Read more
