The loco Moco and garlic chicken plate were great. Too bad they are short handed so the wait is longer, not unusual for a nice... restaurant anyway. Definitely worth the effort to stop by and give them a try. Read more
Definitely on the repeat list! Go for the Big Mok loco-moco if you want variety of meat and a meal to last all day! The Kahlua... hash was tasty, but the consistency was different than I was expecting, but still had a good flavor! The volcano omelet waswell filled with veggies and the pancakes it came with were ENORMOUS!!! Prices were very reasonable! Come hungry and leavefully satisfied! Our wait was 21 minutes for a table of 4, so not bad at all. Got there around 9:30, nice benches to sit inout in the shade. Great Yelp wait list. Read more
Once my husband heard about this breakfast spot, coming here was non-negotiable. Things to know: - It's cash only and there is... an ATM inside - Expect a wait. It's better on weekdays, but even with no one ahead of us we waited for 30 minutes (the waitlistapp said less than 5) - There is no outdoor seating, contrary to what a photo on here lead me to believe. I'm shocked how fewplaces in Hawaii have outdoor seating. Between my husband, my mom, and I, we tried: - Da Big Mok (Loco Moco) - HaupiaPancakes - Kalua Hash and Eggs with Fried Rice - Punalu'u Sweet Bread French Toast (upgraded side choice for Kalua Hash) -Macaroni Salad - POG Juice My favorite thing was the french toast followed by the loco moco. Both were very good. I'm not a bigpancake person, but the Haupia Pancakes were pretty good. There was tuna in the macaroni salad which I'm not a fan of. TheKalua Hash was the worst thing we got. I tasted no pork at all. It just tasted like home fries. Everyone talks about how bigthe portions are, but I didn't find them to be that big.
