Family friendly, the foods were awesome! I had nacho poke for a starter and shrimp and short rib mix. Delicious! Husband said,... it's the best meal he had while in big island. ???? Read more

Very solid place for a nice dinner. Came here with a party of 6 and 2 of us tried the prix fixe. For apps we got the poke nachos... and boar rangoons, both of which were nice and crisp and tasted great. The boar rangoons were interesting with a filling thatreminded me of steak tartare with some fruit chutney. For entrees, we tried some fish dishes and the fish was cookedperfectly. For dessert, we ordered macadamia nut tart and bread pudding in addition to the pastry basket from the prix fixe. Thetart?s crust wasn?t hard like some other places? and the pastry basket had a nice mix of roasted fruits: strawberries, peaches, and pineapples. Service was top notch and everyone was friendly and attentive. Read more

A wonderful upscale experience. The fastest service I've ever experienced. About 5 minutes after ordering our entrées they were... places in front of us! The food was amazing, the macadamia nut encrusted Mahi Mahi (pictured) was nice and flaky. Manycompliments were also given to the steak (pictured). They were even kind enough to split portions in the kitchen since somepeople had different temperature preferences. Our server was very friendly and we had a great window view. We also had thepineapple upside-down cake and chocolate soufflé for dessert. Both were incredible! The one thing to keep in mind is that it isa higher-end restaurant, so portions are going to be smaller and prices are higher. However, the quality of food and service wasworth it for this experience. Read more

We have been coming to Roys for many years. We haven't been able to travel for several years but finally made it back to... Waikoloa. We found our latest experience was still a good one in spite of reading that it had gone downhill. Our server wasawesome, the food was great and we had a great time. Our party of 4 had most of the fish dishes and the fish was cookedperfectly. The chocolate souffle is one of the best desserts ever. It did seem that the souffle was smaller than it used to be?But it was still awesome and I don't need it to be bigger! Prices have gone up for sure but everything is more expensive thesedays. Overall I still highly recommend for a fine dining experience. Read more

We?ve been going to various Roy?s locations for the last 10 years, but this was our first time here. The food did not... disappoint, as always. The ambiance was fine, although not terribly fancy considering the price tag. Overall we had a lovelydinner here with a large group of folks. Appetizers: We ordered the blackened ahi, wild boar wontons, Szechuan ribs, crabcakes, and Brussels sprouts. Of these, the crab cakes, wontons, and Brussels sprouts were the favorites. The crab cake was thickand flavorful; the wontons had a tasty juxtaposition between the savoriness of the boar and sweetness of the chutney, and theBrussels sprouts were crispy and had a nice charred flavor. The ahi was the most disappointing ? it was fine, but nothingspecial. Meals: The group ordered several meals, including the misoyaki butterfish (a favorite!), mekajiki, and the mixedgrill. The butterfish was flavorful, tender, and utterly delicious. The mekajiki was also nice, albeit a bit heavier and lessflavorful than the butterfish. The best thing about the mixed grill was the potato gratin ? otherwise the fish and meat thatcame with this entree were fine but nothing spectacular. Dessert: The group ordered several chocolate cakes and pineapplecakes. The chocolate cake never disappoints in delivering thick, gooey decadence with zing from the raspberry sauce. Thepineapple cake was also delicious, just not my preference. Overall, this restaurant is consistent with the quality of otherRoy?s locations and would be a solid place to have a nicer meal! LUX + UNINHIBITED + FRIENDLY + PERFECT MEDIUM RARE ???? Eating at Roy's was unexpected, which was wonderful because it... unexpectedness is what creates an exceptional meal. Definitely the best dinner experience on the island. It's no Tommy Bahamas, and to be honest, Tommy Bahamas couldn't compare. We came in playful, excited, and in a tip top mood. The staff coulddefinitely sense our carefree mood. Not only could they sense it, but they nurtured it. They have QR codes on the table, but Idid request a paper menu, which I prefer because I like to look at my choices, and think about them, without the addeddistraction of managing a cell phone. We did NOT order appetizers, although I'm sure they would have been lovely. We wentstraight for entrees, and cocktails. Everything we ordered was made with personal care. The staff made sure to bring the sameenergy we arrived with, which was wonderful. That being said, many of the people who served us went to culinary school. They arenot just servers, but passionate about food, customer service, and the island. This is a great spot for couples, businessmeetings, and best friends. I definitely plan to come again. ???? Kaeli'i was a great, laid back, informative server. Well versed in every item on every plate, he really helped with the menu... choices. Each item was delicious. Coffee rubbed ribeye, Macadamia crusted swordfish with lobster sauce & buerre blanc, andGlazed Butterfish. Tables are socially distanced nicely. Drinks delicious! Read more

Definitely not the Roy's that it used to be. The place looked so run down. The seats had all sorts of cracks and were peeling... and so old and uncomfortable. The food has not changed much in 20 years and it wasn't really all that good. The surf and turfhad chewy lobster and super bland corn. The ahi was ok but they now only give you overcooked sticky rice, used to be deliciousblack rice. The molten cake had no molten middle, it was burnt and overcooked. This place used to be amazing. A fresh set offurniture and a revamp to the menu (or maybe better cooks) and it would be better. Read more
