Synopsis: GREAT Food!!! Decent service, enviroment could use some tuning. The Enviroment: This place is, or would have been,... quite the cozy cafe! I love the rustic decor though some of it might be a bit too rustic if you look at some of the metals andfixtures. The musty barriers for Covid, though understandable, add a drab, dreary element to this cute cafe. The cleaning agentthey use on these beautiful wooden tables leaves them a bit sticky. The Service: I was greeted with a smile and lead to mytable. And though friendly I do wish my waiter(ess) would have smiled more. When the staff is frowning it sets a mood. But Ibelieve this to be related to the staffing issues. Dinner service was busy, a full house, but I only counted three waiters. Ieven saw a waiter(ess) take drinks from a customer, then put the dishes with another table that needed bussing (and had for awhile) and walked off. I am not sure if this is a normal practice but the short staffing issues here are apparent. Even as thenight died down things were missed. My plates never cleared, my water, though told it would be, was never replenished, and mydessert took 25 minutes to bring out and they forgot the sauce. However I am grateful for their service. The Food: From therolls, to the meatloaf, to the Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. This place serves wonderfully tasting food! I sampled quite a bit today andloved everything. But get it fresh and hot right at the cafe! Now the real reason for this review. The buttercake. I have neverheard or imagined of such a thing! It is a thin, golden, and crispy cake, adorned with a delicious, perfect cheesecake, andtopped with a light caramel sauce and whipped cream. I instantly fell in love with it. We were a party of 5. We waited and waited but no one came to seat us. Finally had to go get someone. This is why I gave a 3 for... service. Once we got seated, our waitress was great. Friendly, accommodating, and attentive. The food was about what you wouldexpect from this type of restaurant. It was tasty but nothing fancy. Presentation was pretty plain. What WAS great was thefinal bill. Most people ordered off the lunch specials and our total bill for 5 of us was under $60.00! Read more

After I have picked up my food, it was cold. Granted,not my usual experience here. But then I got the Chicken Fried Brisket. It... was mostly untrimmed Brisket so mostly was a huge hunks of fat with Chicken Fried Batter. I literally paid more for a meal thatI could only eat the sides. Glad my husband shared his Catfish with me. It was fine after we warmed it up which kind of ruinsit for me. When I pay to have food prepared, I am still not getting a break. Really disappointing.???? So sadly after postingthis, a lady reached out once told me to email her and still nothing......... Crickets...... Doesn't reflect a company thatreally cares about customer experience. Read more
The fried nushrooms were hot and delicious. Fried catfish/shrimp combo with green beans was very good. Cajun combo was also... good. They won't let you go home hungry! Our waitress was very nice too.We will definitely go back! Read more
Big salute to the Cotton Patch Cafe for offering a free entree to veterans on Veterans Day. My wife and I both got the chicken... fried chicken and mashed potatoes. She got country gravy and I got their delicious jalapeño gravy slathered all over mychicken. Oh my, this was some good comfort food on a cool November night. We enjoyed our meals and shared a square of chocolateDr Pepper cake topped with ice cream. The cake would have better warm but all in all, a top rate meal. Read more
