Where do I start? Back when Val and John owed the Tamarack Lodge, I signed a contract to use this site as my wedding venue. I... knew when signing that the Tamarack was for sale and could end up becoming new ownership. I was told that this would not changemy contract. Since Val left, I have only met the new owner once. And there have been a total of three different weddingcoordinators that I have had to work with, they just keep changing. Due to some family emergencies I have made changes to ourwedding plans and sent a notice in writing that I needed to cancel the contract. I sent first notice on 5/27/22, and many othernotices since then without receiving any kind of response. Unprofessional. I am still waiting for some kind of acknowledgementfrom them, and looking for money I have already paid to be returned to me. Unfortunately it won?t let me respond to the commentthat was made after I posted this so I will just add this here. I have worked with Heather, Kathy and when I messaged Kathy gotan email that now it is Amylu. Communication is everything and I never once got that from you as the owner. You never reachedout to introduce yourself. Amylu should have also introduced herself and I should have been aware of the changes. Things changedwith my package and things were added that I did not want, it became unmanageable and almost doubled in price. Kathy had told usthat the cabin block needed to be paid by us and we could ask guests to reimburse us, and that since we added a cabin black wehad no option but to do an open bar. There were just things that could have been fixed, but it is far too late now. Update, asof 6/8/22 the only response I have received is this reply here on my google review. Poor communication, absolutely horrible. Noemails back, no calls to let me know what is going on, nothing. I have sent follow up email, after follow up email, and I can'tget anywhere. Joe and I were just there. I had the fish and chips. Fish was in a lovely light batter fried to perfection, fries were hot and... crispy. Joe had the beef tips medium rare which were cooked perfect. Valoree and John were phenomenal. The lodge and camp ground is beautiful, neat and very convenient for the type of wedding we... had. They were very accommodating, kind, welcoming and professional. The staff was exceptional, and the guest house and cabinswere perfect for our guests. Still getting messages from our guests expressing how much they loved the venue and thehospitality! Read more

We held our 20th high school reunion here and it was amazing! Val was awesome to work with every step of the way. She helped... plan an event within our budget and really took the time to help us plan the perfect event. She was accomodating and was alwaysavailable ro answer questions and give suggestions to help ensure the success of our event. We enjoyed a pasta bar (dinner) andchicken cordon bleu bites (appetizer)and the food was excellent! The staff was also great- friendly and super helpful. Two stars because the venue itself is very pretty and my wedding did end up happening. However everything else was a nightmare.... When the new people took over everything changed. First - no one informed us that the ownership had changed or that our contractwas no longer valid. Then we had to work with four different coordinators and each time the new coordinator had no informationthat we had given the previous coordinator. Communication was awful. Promises were made and then never kept. So many things werechanged and we were never told about those changes.Even basic questions took weeks to get answered and then answers changed manytimes. Prices tripled and they acted as though that was my fault and made me feel cheap for asking for the original agreed-uponprice. They acted as though They were doing me a favor by even having my wedding there however had I?ve been told of thesituation I would have never had my wedding there. The day of my wedding I was sick all day because I was worried that theywould cancel or do something else to ruin the day for me.
