Found this little gem of a winery in Amador County by accident and I am so glad I did. Coming from a small boutique style family... winery myself, I was mesmerized by their varietals. First, the foothills in Amador are known for big Old Vine Zins anddefinitely the famous Barbera varietal, which MFV winery proves to be at the top of the crush with their fantastic flavorpresence. What really sold me on this fabulous winery was the Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay the young winemaker hasconcocted. Hailing from the Sonoma/Napa region, I am very skeptical of non coastal Cabs/Chards and boy was I not only surprised,I was floored! The rich in flavor yet palatable smoothness of the estate Cab ?Jane? was like a moonlight walk with no shadows,Every taste bud just hitting on all the right cylinders. There is no other Cab in the foothills that can even compare. With allthat being said, my same feelings go towards their Chardonnay. Not too fruity, not too buttery, just the right blend, and anabsolute treat for any occasion. MFV Winery packs a huge punch and we will definitely see big things in the future from this upand coming family winery. Read more

Exceptional Barbera. Unique location with a well run family winery. Received a bottle from a friend of a friend and had to... track down the maker. Discovered this boutique maker and have come to enjoy the wine, vineyard, and the wine makers. Jamisonand Jeff have truly worked magic into their grapes. Read more
