I've been to the Centerville Wing King location about 3 times, I believe. The first couple of times I thought, "Not as good as... the Rosemont location's wings, but close enough." And then I would enjoy my very passable (but decidedly not superior)wings. On the evening of 9/23/22, I opted for a late-night wings order from them, but this time the wings were downrightbad. 1. It didn't seem like the wings had been marinated or tenderized at all. I could be wrong about this, but in myexperience, when this is done the meat itself has a slight savory flavor and a certain softness in texture. In this case, theactual meat of the wings was stringy and bland. 2. Although the wings had been crisped up nicely as requested, they had hardlybeen sauced at all, and I also requested extra sauce. The sauce had completely broken, and so what I got was a bunch of dry(albeit crispy) flavorless wings sitting atop a residue of spicy, reddish oil. The wings almost completely lacked any of thetang I like and have come to expect. I don't order wings that often these days because they've gotten expensive. I'm not superpicky about them either. When I do order them, though, "passable" tends to make me happy. Admittedly, it's something of a lowbar -- but it's a bar that the Centerville Wing King utterly failed to meet for me this time around. For I place that I usually love this visit was a mistake (I usually go to Virginia Beach Blvd). I have a 30 min lunch and... ordered online. 5 boneless with wedges wings extra crispy. The wedges were not wedges they were fries that were cut into a wedgeshape and barely cooked ????and the wings were not crispy at all. A little disappointing that I couldn't finish my lunch thatday. The first few times we tried this place were during covid, so we just ordered the food through a delivery service. The wings... were very good, especially the boneless, so when we were ready to start going back to restaurants, we were excited to go tohere. This was our second (and last) time giving this place a chance. What a disappointment. The server was new and very nicebut that was the only good thing about our visit. The boneless wings were super dry this time and the corn dog bites my sonordered were burnt to a crisp. The server said she would tell the kitchen when we showed her they were burnt and sent them back.He only ate one and they didn?t comp them or take them off. There were also flies everywhere. Landing on our plates, on ourdrinks, everywhere. I was able to get a picture of one easily because there was always at least one around. It was disgusting.We won?t be back. First time going to this location.wifey n I both agree.Food and staff were amazing. Hot fresh delicious wings very good flavor.... Friendly staff and of course they have trivia night, music, karaoke, sports on multiple televisions. A nice size bar and pooltables.
