We Wanted to enjoy a good steak and decided to try Ruth Chris Steak House in Virginia Beach. I have tried many good steak... houses around the world and Ruth Chris is a top notch steak house. They warn you the plates are served hot and they are right.The food is piping hot when it arrived. But first the service, the service was on point from our Server Garon, he was great andon point. He recommended the macaroni and crab. That bleep was good! First time I tried it and it did not disappoint. Wasimpressed with the service that the manager stopped and talked several time at our table. Garon was entertaining and took verygood care of us. He deserved the 50+ dollar tip we gave. The steak and potatoe was very good and the taste did not disappoint.The potatoe was fresh and too big. My wife had the lambs chops with asparagus. I'm not really big on steak so I'm really glad they had alternate options. But im sorry lets start from the beginning. The... appetizer simply fried shrimp one word delicious!! It came with a dipping sauce that was equally amazing and the cucumber saladwas perfect! The blueberry Mojito was good it was stronger on the second drink but still delicious. For the main course i hadthe salmon (medium) and shrimp. The salmon just melted in your mouth it was amazing!!! We shared the lobster Mac and cheese andI must say it I didn't think it would be cheesy but man did they prove me wrong. Everything that touched my tongue was anamazing experience. We went to Ruth Chris for the first time in years for my birthday. I'm glad to say that in a time where customer service is... declining, the customer service there was still top notch. Please note that they include an 18% gratuity which is shared witheveyone who comes to your table. Many upscale restaurants are going to this model. The service was deserving of much more thanthat so we added to it. I had crab cakes, sweet potato casserole, brussel sprouts and a house salad. Instead of getting thethree crab cake entree, I ordered the two crab cake appetizer as an entree. My husband had the T-Bone steak and garlic mashedpotatoes. Everthing came out sizzling (hot plates).The crab cakes were mostly crab meat which was great. I asked for a side ofhollandaise sauce with it. The brussel sprouts were tender while also having a slight crispness. The sweet potato casserole wasSWEET with a pecan crust which gave it a nice crunch in the midst of the creaminess of the sweet potatoes. My husband also saidthe the garlic mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. He said his steak was tender and good. All of the sides are a la carte. Theserving size is enough for two or three regular sides -definitely shareable. I ordered enough to have leftovers. Since myhusband didn't like the sides I ordered it worked out great! If I were to go again, I would skip the salad and get dessertinstead. For my birthday they gave me cheesecake that tasted like a mixture of cheesecake and ice cream. It was delicious! Wow! First things first, you get what you pay for and you should expect to pay a substantial amount of money for dinner at any... Ruth's Chris. What the expensive price tag does provide is phenomenal food, great service, and a night you will neverforget. Prices aside, if you are looking for the BEST steak house in Virginia Beach (maybe even Hampton Roads) then this is*the* place to go. The food is AMAZING and worth every penny! The ambiance and decor is top notch for any type of gathering fromromantic dinner dates, family gathering, and even for business purposes. Service is outstanding, completely opposite of therude/obnoxious customer service you typically get elsewhere in Hampton Roads. Parking can be little harsh, you will most likelybe parking in a parking garage a few blocks away. Just outside this Ruth's Chris, is a gorgeous open area that has decorationsfor the time of year. At the time of this review, it was Christmas decor (with Christmas music). If you can afford Ruth Cris,it is an EXCELLENT choice to eat. That was the BEST steak I ever had in my life. Life hack tip, you MUST make a reservation, and Fellas dress appropriately, no... sleeveless shirts and no hats, too bad I got stood up ????
