Everything about this place is amazing. The atmosphere, the servers, the food and more. The servers recognize us and treat us... like friends and family. Had no bad experiences with sushi at this place, and everything I tried is amazing. We had someappetizers, and the shrimp tempura was amazing, for example. The chicken teriyaki was savory and delicious, and it came with awell cooked bowl of rice. Now for the sushi - it might be some of the best I have ever had. Even though I did not go to Japan orother East asian places, I travelled almost all of Europe. From all the places I have been, this might be the best since theingridients are fresh, and not oversized like other sushi at the U.S. Overall, everything is good. The sushi was so delicious!!! The service was extraordinary. Our server placed the napkin in our laps, constantly checked in on... us, and my boyfriend and her spoke in Japanese which I was so fascinated with. Definitely coming back. We used to love this place. All the time we had same sushi ordered since the quality was great. We placed the order for... cooked salmon sushi. And they were horrible. Looks like the used the leftovers from some spoiled fish. Other sushi was OK, butthis is unacceptable. Looks like they just don't care what they put in to pick up orders.... Updating my review from a year ago. Nara Sushi has the best and most authentic sushi in Virginia Beach. I come here almost... weekly. The owners remember all their recurring guests. It's really a home like environment there. Most of the customers areregulars so you start to meet others. They know us and our extended family. The really make us feel welcomed every time wecome. It's such an intimidate small restaurant. Somehow they make it roomy and keep it very clean. Service is superb andtimely. All of the waitresses and waiters are bilingual, fluent in English and their native language. I recommend calling forreservations as this place gets busy very quickly during dinner time. It's pretty easy, just call ahead. Eric is the main sushichef. Him and his wife own this restaurant. Eric creates each roll as if the were his master piece. The fish they serve isfresh. Each dish is beautifully presented and really delicious. I always leave there with belly full and satisfied. This is theonly place in the city that creates and serves a sushi hand roll, correctly. All I can say is I highly, hands down, can not sayany more, about how much I recommend this place. If you want real sushi, just dine here. Read more

The most amazing little treasure in Virgina, perfect customer service, plating design like from a show. Super fresh sushi, they... even give you lemon water for your hands after the fish, wonderfully thoughtful. Prices are reasonable as well, and they makeyour birthday special.
