4 Nov 22, at about 1600. Well, garbage service again. Walked in with the wife. I needed to use the restroom so went... immediately there. After coming out the restroom I saw the wife still stand at the front to be seated, while two employees werestill sitting there chit chatting. We left. This time we will not be returning. Also, no idea why they would offer 10% offif you pay in cash. There was a sign saying that, seems odd. 14 Sep 23, Again, Excellent service. A complete 180 degree turnaround from my original review. Tony provided an excellent dining experience and was very attentive to our needs. Easily myfavorite IHOP if it continues to be like this. Highly recommended. 12 Sep 2023: A complete turn around of previous service. Marie was an absolute professional with an upbeat attitude. Best service I have gotten here. She recently started workinghere, she is undoubtedly an experience hostess with pride in her job. Second Review: Visited here again because the wifewanted to. I can tell you it will be my last. Almost every table around me dirty, yet no customers are here. I hope mycamera's photo quality comes through. First review: IHOP normally has great service along with the food. The wife and I wentthere to eat after work. The place was empty and the service was really subpar. After ordering our food and receiving it, Idid not see the serverbagain until we were ready to go. I normally get 2 or 3 refills of my drink, I am a drinker. But theserver just never bothered to stop by for refills and was busy in the kitchen having fun chatting with the chef it soundedlike. Enjoy the ambiance of this modern updated IHOP which is conveniently located on General Booth Boulevard not far from the main... gate to NAS Oceana's Dam Neck Annex. When Joseph, picture below, sensed I wasn't happy sitting away from the windows, heimmediately reseated us in a booth by a window. Also, serving as our waiter, Joseph, sensing my husband having some difficultyselecting from his menu, came over to assist. The coffee there was surprisingly delicious, but then Joseph had prepared afresh pot for us. I was delighted when Joseph brought a bottle of hot pepper sauce without my having to ask. If you haven'tbeen to an IHOP in while - in my husband's case it was over five years, then I highly recommend you give them another try. Read more
The waitress we had this morning acted unprofessionally by making some sarcastic comments when a family member asked for a... condiment, she checked on our table only once, and due to the internet issues at the restaurant requiring only cash to be used,the tip wasn?t as large as she clearly wanted, so she felt the need to make a comment about the lack of a large tip. Went on my birthday. AC was down - no notice on door. One lady was really rude. Our server was super good but poor guy was... swamped with customers because they were short staffed. Found out they don't participate in the IHOP rewards app even thoughthey advertise for it. Was a very disappointing birthday meal. I'd looked forward to it for weeks but felt like crying instead. This was the first time ordering at this location, as I've typically ordered from the First Colonial Rd location (which is also... a 3-star rating). I was disappointed in the lack of order accuracy, the timeliness of service, and the attempt to get me topre-pay for my order. I don't think that is an IHOP policy...It wasn't in Northern VA.. The young man, Tony I think, was theonly person taking phone orders and assisting the dine-in customers. I can definitely empathize with him for possibly being overworked.
