I found this place by chance, while hungry and going into Harris Teeter for some fried chicken. They were all sold out, but... just outside there was a heavenly smell coming from this place called Forbidden Palace. So I went over to check it out. First,I have to say that what I ate there is sincerely the best NY Style Chinese food I?ve ever had in my life. Atmosphere is sereneand everything in the restaurant is very clean. Great place for a romantic date, taking your whole family, or even solo diningin comfort and peace. They also have traditional (authentic) Chinese food, if that?s what you?re after. This is the true ?No.1 Chinese Food? restaurant in taste, quality, and style. I?ve been back twice already since my first visit, and it?s easy tosay that I will be a regular here from now on. Good food. Reasonable prices. They have a lunch menu also. Service was pretty good but I was at a table of six people and they... brought people's food out at different times. Most restaurants will try to bring everyone's food out at about the same time. Iwas stuck sitting there twiddling my thumbs while all my table mates were eating. Not cool. Read more

This was my first time visiting this place, I love Chinese food. This is a staple meal I have to try at every Chinese place, so... I was dying to try it to be able to compare. It was 9.5/10 stars! The service was a 10/10 I highly reccomend this place. Ourwaiter Jim was by far one of the best servers I?ve ever had. And the resturant it?self is so relaxing. Read more

The food and service were excellent! Prices were just a little bit high compared to some other Chinese restaurants, but overall... the meal was a good value, as most of us had more than we could eat, and so we had food to take home with us! Their sesamechicken and their plum wine was some of the best that I've ever tasted! We intend to return here as one of our frequent Saturdaynight gathering places! Read more

The fried rice? not fried, Szechuan chicken not fried, more like Hunan chicken. Fortune cookies GREAT! Only four dumplings in... an order and meat was very dry. The crazy roll (RAW), very small, too much sauce and pricey for what is served. BBQ Chicken bunfilled with more sauce than meat. 30-45 minute delivery window actually 1hr 15minutes. Lo Mein, pork, okay. Overall, overpricednot good food. Two thumbs down. Read more

Food good, bad service. Party of three and got rice for one. Couldn?t get the waitress to come back; then she says more rice... is more money. I don?t care! Check back and see if we need anything! Read more

Our meal was yummy! We moved to the VA Beach area last year from Northern VA where we enjoyed some great Chinese restaurants.... However once getting here, we have tried several different Chinese places and none of them seemed as good or close to qualityof what we got back home. That is until we went here! The chicken was crispy and delicious, it was sesame chicken, although tome it tasted more like a better version of panda express?s orange chicken. I was happy to find the house fried rice wasdelicious and up to what I?ve been used to. It was moist, flavorful, and had generous amount of meat within. It came as onegiant mountain of rice! Lots of other places around here rice just hasn't been up to part. The meat was moist and delicious. Wealso ordered hot and sour soup and egg drop soup of which had large price difference. Soup was good, but cost May not be worthto get. U should take advantage of their happy hours 4-7 pm everyday where they have discounts of several dollars off differentappetizers. Read more

Great time! Food was very savory and made to order. Loved the atmosphere and the attentiveness of or waitress Tiffany.
