I have been taste testing Virginia beach Oyster Rockerfella. So far Dockside is best. I have tested many restaurant options on... the bay and ocean side. Dockside has the perfect balance of cheese spinach, oyster and flavorings. On a side note.we also hadclams casino, it was pretty good too. My favorite was the Oysters. Very nice view. Servers were great and attentive. Prices are a lil high but I guess it pays for the view or location. My friends... and I arrived and enter from the docks. We got to park the boat on their dock. The clam chowder wasn't new England so if youexpected that, get the she crab soup instead. Both were good though. The food were delicious too. Read more

Fish was cooked to perfection, and it was delicious! Key lime pie was excellent as well, really refreshing end to the dinner. ... Hush puppies were very tasty and crunchy. I took one star off for the side dish options. French fries, hush puppies, coleslawand vegetable medley. Eh. We all had the vegetable medley, but they were a little overcooked and very bland. The food was phenomenal and fresh. The service was great too. It was neat to see the fish market as you entered the building and... look at all the fresh fish. I had the tuna, and it was incredible. The potato salad was incredible too. Everything was good. Ido think the shrimp add on to my meal was overpriced considering the three tiny shrimp I received, but they still were very goodtasting. We were looking into some sit-down eating options in the Virginia Beach area and saw that Dockside had some consistently good... reviews. It was nice to see that they had a fresh market on-site so that everything was caught and prepared fresh. We enteredthe parking lot around 5 pm on a Tuesday. The lot was pretty full?not because of the amount of cars?but moreso because theparking spaces were extremely tight?it doesn?t help when almost everyone has an SUV or Pickup truck. So there were lot ofvehicles taking up two spaces and everyone was being extra care when maneuvering within the lot. After we parking safely in afar corner space, we entered the initial marketplace area. They seemed to have a wide variety of everything seafood?fish,shellfish, seasoning, etc? At that time they had started to put some things away?but some seafood was still out in the case. Wemade our way to the back and while there was a short wait for outdoor seating?there was no wait for indoor seating. (Outdoorseating is really nice since it is right on the water). Inside was pretty busy with server hustling all over. Our nice servertook our drink and food order quickly. Our drinks were brought over immediately and food following soon after. We had a fewthings?shrimp, fish, scallops, and fries. Everything was really fresh and very good?but what stole the show was the crab cake?itwas really some of the best I?ve ever had. Prices were very reasonable considering how expensive seafood can be. All staff weencountered were nice and helpful. The service is fairly fast, but very friendly. Tables both inside and out, with part of the outside covered and roll up vinyl... windows. Great view over the water (inlet). Nice to keep the rain out, but then let the breeze in to get the humidity out. Thefresh catch of the day had a wide variety with three different preparations. Great view right on the inlet. I ate outside and had the scallops. Service was "eh" but my friend and I were also talking and... not ready to order initially...so some of that might be self-inflicted. The scallops were large and well prepared. Plenty offood came out and I was definitely not disappointed. Slightly above average selection of beer, so no complaints on that,either. Read more
