So delicious! Modern Mexico is a great way to describe the food. Our server let us know we could order our tacos ala carte as we... only wanted 2 each. Cantina Laredo is located in the Town Center section of Virginia Beach. It is on the second floor of the building on Commerce... St. Willams Sonoma is on the first floor below it. One of the closest parking areas would be the Cosmopolitan Parking Garage(Town Center Blue Parking Garage). There is a pedestrian walkway from the second floor of the parking garage to the secondfloor of the building where Cantina Laredo is located. My visit here occurred on March 22, 2022. I go to the town center areaof the city quite a bit. I have seen this place there since it opened in 2020, but I hadn't been in there until this firstvisit. I had been wanting to try it out, and on this particular week, it was Town Center Restaurant Week, so I figured this wasa great time to try this place out. My mom and I got here around 3:15 pm, so it wasn't a busy time in the area, so we wereactually able to snag a parallel parking spot in the front of the building along the road. Around the corner (towards thefountain), there is an area to get to the second floor either by stairs or elevator. After getting up to the second floor, wewent around to the entrance. Upon entering, it was not busy at the time. We were immediately greeted and seated. The place isvery open, with both indoor and outdoor seating. After getting seated, our server Jewel came to the table to greet herself andasked if we wanted anything to drink. After getting some drinks, we were ready to order since we looked at the menu ahead oftime as well for the restaurant week. For the appetizer, we went with the Queso Y Guacamole Combinacion (Queso and Guacamolecombination). For the entree, I went with the Beef Enchiladas and my mom went with the Espinaca (Spinach) enchiladas. For thedessert, we went with the Tres Chocolate Brownie. My 1st visit here I decided to go on my lunch break. After I had ordered I was a little surprised to see how dirty the floors... were and the stools had not been wiped out from the night before. During my visit they did not appear to be short staffed orbusy so I'm surprised no one was cleaning. I ordered chicken enchiladas and they came out six minutes later. I immediately feltthe plate which was ice cold and touched my food which was barley warm. I asked the waiter to have them warm it up which he did.Why would they serve me cold food? Also, the taste and quality of the food doesn't match the prices. Although I appreciate fastservice on my lunch break, I value hot food and cleanliness more. I gave three stars because the restaurant is beautiful insideand the guy working the bar that waited on me was supper nice. Read more
Great decor and seating. Friendly staff!! Food was average taste and looked good. Portion was good! Prices are just slightly... above average. Maybe that’s due to the crazy inflation! Big downfall was cleanliness of the appetizer plates. Not only werethe ones on our table dirty, but after waiting longer than we wanted to wait for clean plates, my friend tried to get cleanplates that were stacked near us on another table. Out of 3 tables (not counting our own) were 12 dishes and only 2 were clean.???? Dishwasher problem? Of course the plates should also be inspected as they are put out for customers. Please checkcleanliness of plates and utensils before giving them to the customer. That’s a biggie and a very simple thing to do. We had agood time but I’m not dying to go back and not giving rave reviews to friends. An average experience. I’d say it’s goodbut not great yet. However, kudos to the friendly staff! That is a Big Plus!! Thank You! We arrived about 5:15 so there were fewpeople there, but when we left 2 hrs later it was practically full and everyone appeared to be having a great time and the foodlooked good. I've been here a countless number of times and absolutely love this place! This is truly done dining at a very reasonable price!... The atmosphere is just amazing and very intimate for a nice date night, it's also chill for a girl's night out, and even goodfor a birthday dinner! I went because I heard of their Plant-Based menu and how many items they offer. I just had to try it formyself! I was very pleased with each dish that I've had so far! To name a few of the items I've tried the Impossible bowl,Relleno de Hongos, and Enchiladas de Vegetales, etc. So dishes were very good and made to perfection!
