Came off the ferry and this restaurant is only 100 yards away. Setting is nice on the water, service was average (but not overly... accommodating), and the food was good. The claim chowder was pretty good and served in a unique mug and the fish and chips weregood but not very flavorful. Nice meal but would probably choose another place next time. Note: they don?t let you get separatechecks. Read more

Island staple. I don?t eat seafood but my wife got the lobster Mac and cheese. It?s huge, delicious, and has plenty of lobster... claw meat. She said the clam chowder is really good, too. I got the Alabama Sandwich. Pretty good. Fries are a highlight Read more

Walked here right from the Vineyard Haven ferry drop off. We waited about 10 mins or so for a table for 4. Ordered a bottle of... Prosecco and a mix of sandwiches. I was impressed by the salmon BLT. We all raved about the fries and gushed about the woodedcabin atmosphere! Loved dining here! Read more

The stores were a little pricey, but the merchandise appears to be made very well!!! Frank was the best in the store!!! The... food was phenomenal...and our server...she was the best also! Great people! Great atmosphere! Would definitely go back toMartha's Vineyard to Blackdog restaurant, bakery, and merchandise!! Also had the best Cabbie on the island...he can give youtours on a private level and go places the bus tours cannot go! Extremely friendly, down to earth, and the best service!!! Read more

Just a little waterfront restaurant serving tasty American fare in a woodsy dining room with a seafaring vibe. A bit pricey for... what it is but portions were generous. But I don't understand the hype. Is this really where the Black Dog empire began? Read more

The Black Dog Tavern is a very aesthetically pleasing rustic style restaurant located right on the water. The ambiance is very... relaxed, with music playing and the sound of food cooking in the background (in an exposed kitchen). We ordered the Mezza plateas an appetizer, which was light and tasty. We ordered the Crab Cake Sandwich and the Steak Tips & Fries for entrees. The foodwas excellent and fresh. Great service, great experience all around. Read more

Good lunch spot close to the ferry terminal. Not any specific gluten-free items the menu mentioned so I just got a cheeseburger... with no bun. The house made ginger beer is very good. The mussels came out cold somehow. The fries were crispy and the beetsalad was good. Read more

Really great experience here! Me and my dad wanted outdoor seating. They didn?t have the staffing for it but they were so... accommodating. They suggested getting takeout that we could eat at the picnic tables in front facing the water. They were ableto serve us wine and beer still and brought our takeout to our table. The food was amazing! We got clam chowder, garlicencrusted cod, and steak tips. All of it was so delicious, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Thanks for a great evening! Read more
