Husband & I had a warning for a real authentic milkshake so we thought we would try them at Steak 'n Shake". Although the... milkshakes were tasty, we were not impressed with their selections. Specific flavors were no longer being offered, yet they werestill on the menu.l (My husband had his mind made up on a discontinued flavor...of course!) The burgers here are delicious. My friend told me this is the real-deal burger place just like the first one that opened in... Burlington, Illinois. I ordered the first combo meal with the double burger and it really is a perfect burger for the drive.Juicy, flavorful, and memorable. Yum! Read more
The employees were very nice and accommodating at this restaurant. The food was good and the milkshakes were huge.
Not the best burger in the world but WAY better than a fast food chain burger. Had the Recess Peanut Butter Cup Shake, that was... delicious. Fries are cut and sliced pretty small and thin, I wasn't the biggest fan of that. I ordered the #1 Original DoubleSteak Cheeseburger. I should've ordered it without the tomatoes and lettuce to not overpower the burger flavor. Overall I willcome back and recommend it to any burger lover in the area or driving by.. by the way, try out Freddy's across the freeway, it'sa tasty alternative. Read more
The food is pretty good, but the service is not good at all as it seems they are under staffed. It?s confusing as you walk in -... you don?t know what to do because they have hand written notes at the greeter desk, but then they have a sign to order at theregister. None of the workers greet you, or acknowledge you. The bathrooms are locked and the keys are on little chains attachedto a stick, yet they just leave them out on the front table. So it?s an inconvenience to find the key, use the key, has germs onit from other bathroom users, and is just a weird inconvenience. Food is pretty good, worth waiting if they got faster, butthere are lots of small inconveniences when eating here. Read more
THE ONLY REAL STEAK N SHAKE OUTSIDE OF THE MIDWEST!!! I'm from chicago and grew up with occasional meals at steak n shake. I... live in LA now and was always disappointed with the steak n shakes they opened over here. The food tasted different and the menuwas sooo limited (no Frisco melt?? No chili Mac???) It wasn't until I stopped here on my way to Vegas that I found one thatfeels like it was literally teleported here from Illinois. Full menu, the shakes taste just as excellent as I remember, and theburgers are delicious flavor bombs like they should be. Talked with the manager a bit about how they have fought to keep thisplace as close to the real deal as possible. They even pay out of pocket to keep some items on the menu that corporate hasremoved from the menus of other locations!! If you're a fast food lover do yourself a favor and stop by, it's definitely worthit. Read more
