The Cracker Barrel experience is always a good one. I believe the quantity of food and price are well above expectations here.... In this occasion I picked up the country fried steak, fried apples and side of and grits. We also had the Grandma sampler, thatone has eggs, side of sausage bacon or ham and pancakes. What ever you get here I?ll say they?re all good. Customer service isalways good and sometimes exceptional. And shopping at their store while you is also a cool experience. Plenty of parking and alot of Comfort food make this place amazing. I just wish they had more locations in California. Read more
Not a good experience at one of our favorite national chains. Something lacking about CB in California as compared to say,... Texas. Service was poor by our server who seemed to have something else on his mind and basically ignored our table. Refillswere very slow. Food quality was mediocre at best. You need a southern cook that knows how to cook eggs (tough) and grits(consistency of soup). Had to ask for butter, twice. And never received our 'special jelly' at all. Driving all the way from 29Palms our time and money would have been better spent at Denny's of all places. Up your game, partner. You are now on our '5year visit plan'. See you again in 2027... I are miss Texas Read more
1st time coming here and have been wanting to try them for awhile. There were a few items that I was torn between ordering but... ultimately ended up on the fried chicken based on suggestion (although when the meal came out the person who "recommended" itrealized it was the other chicken). Chicken was perfectly juicy inside yet crispy on the outside, however I felt like a lot ofthe items could use more seasoning. I really liked the fluffiness of the biscuits as well as the apples. Next time I'm orderingthe chicken pot pie I got talked out of Read more
Great place to take the family. They had really cool vintage items around the wall and a giant fireplace in the dining area. It... was a very cabin/country like environment that had comfort food to match it. The staff there were extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. The convenient retail store attached to the dining area is a bit high in price but worth the souvenirs. Read more
Today I ordered the country boy breakfast with steak, eggs, grits, biscuits and gravy, apple butter, and two sides of hash brown... casserole. The steak was juicy and flavorful, although I asked for it as medium it was a little more towards medium well, butthat is okay. Hubby ordered the country fried turkey meal with hash brown casserole, broccoli and hush puppies. The countryfried turkey tasted good and the turkey was moist and had good seasoning on it, but the hush puppies were a little bland forhim. Also ordered a side of pancakes, as they are what's worth driving here for in addition to the hash brown casserole. Servicewas pretty quick, we were seated with no wait since it was afternoon already. The store was clean, and well-organized, and theyalready had some Christmas stuff out. The other thing I liked, was they had my bar none candy bars, which they were out lasttime I came, so made me excited that they finally had them again. We will definitely return, as the hash brown casserole andpancakes are the best! The only downside, is we noticed each time we come, the portion sizes seem to get smaller and smaller. Iremember when the grits came in a huge bowl and the hash brown casserole came in a bigger portion, as well as the other items. Iunderstand that since the pandemic, many places have reduced portion sizes in order to keep prices down. However I do wish theywould increase the size of the hash brown casserole and the grits. We will definitely return. Read more
