Stopped here for a very good lunch! We were in good hands with our waiter, Steven. My friend and I both enjoyed the Chicken... Fried Steak special. I also tried their Spicy Pumpkin Soup, and while it was pretty good, I wish they labeled it as CurriedPumpkin instead, as it had a very strong curry taste to it. Dined in as an out of towner and ordered the chicken fried steak. It was crispy and delicious. The mashed potatoes and dinner... roll paired wonderfully with the steak. The dining area was modern and clean. Private restrooms were also clean. The vibe inthe restaurant was wholesome. Read more
After moving back to Victoria I was looking forward to eating at Huvar?s again! The staff seemed overwhelmed. I had to ask for a... server to come to my table. The food took forever to come. When it did, the ?kettle? chips that were supposed to come with mysandwich were obviously Lay?s potato chips. The cheese in my ham and Swiss sandwich was processed American cheese. They also didnot have bread pudding which was still on the menu and what I was most looking forward to eating. The waitress said the chefsimply didn?t have time to make it. Gave this place another shot. Pretty good grub this time. Started off with the Key Lime Guac and chis and woooweee it was... delicious!!! I had the club sandwich with sweet potato puffs. Everything was fresh. Although they could have been eaten bythemselves, I dipped the puffs in ranch to give it that little extra and it did! We did have to wait a little bit for someoneto initially come to our table. That was to be expected though due to it being super busy this day. Our waitress was very niceand thorough. The chicken club was great. Tasted good and had a good flavor. Also the sweet potato puffs were an extra and well worth it. The... key lime guacamole dipp was awesome.
