We held a celebration of life for our friend and chose the Monkey Tree due to its central location and revamped menu. The... manager Darren was extremely helpful in providing us the space and created a lovely customized menu with photos of our friend onshort notice. The server Emily was courteous and attentive as were the other restaurant staff. The chicken wings were on pointand the chicken strips were scratch made and outstanding. The drinks were prepared well and the bartending staff wereprofessional. Darren was on site when we arrived and ensured our event went smoothly. I recommend the Monkey Tree Pub to localsand visitors alike as one of the best in Victoria for food, service and atmosphere. Good atmosphere, good food and friendly staff. Happy hour ok, not a lot of items to choose from. Only complaint was nachos... were very over priced, they were the most expensive thing on the menu at $26...ridiculous! Read more
$57 for lunch, and the two people fully knowing portion should have been good but I anticipated him not being very large that's... how it is these days sometimes. Chicken tenders with fries you basically get 5 of them (equivalent of one chicken breast) $17.Tiny portion. Beef-brisket sandwich, pretty good - they forgot the jus for the side. Burger of the day, tasty. Overall, frieswere average food was good, people are fine on the phone but portions were super small. It's take out but yes, not generous forwhat you pay. Read more
Definitely one of the best pubs in victoria. Despite them being pretty busy we still got our drinks fairly quickly and the... service was impeccable. Me and my friends will definitely be returning. Read more
Great pub, great food. Especially enjoy the beer selection and weekly specials. But its often quite crowded and not a lot of... covid barriers in place. The staff don't wear masks, and no outdoor seating available. Finally, don't drink and drive if youplan to visit here! Read more
Ordered hot chicken wings that were served to me uncooked properly. I tried couple pieces that were bloody and taste like raw... chicken. Could not finish my plate because this can make me sick and all pieces were uncooked and bloody. The server was veryunprofessional and did not care at all even though I did not touch my plate and explained the situation to the server i had topay for their raw bloody chicken wings that can poison you and kill you for eating them. Music bingo was a blast. The food selection wasn't very large and it seemed expensive for what it was. Over $30 for nachos with... chicken. Service was friendly, a little on the slow side. I'm going to go back and check them out on a weeknight when they'renot doing music bingo to see what it's like. Read more
I love this place. A pretty typical neighborhood pub, set apart by the exceptional service. The staff, in addition to being warm... and friendly, are consummate pros; you never have to wait for a drink even on the busiest nights. Combined with the invitingatmosphere, ice cold beer, and raucous music bingo, what more could you ask for? Read more
