I was really dissappointed with the taste and portion size of the chicken biryani and the portion of rice that came with the... lamb curry. The biryani taste like it was pre made. I am attaching pictures to show portion size and how the food was not goodfor the amount it costs. The biryani costs 21 dollars and the curry costs 23 dollars so why are portions so small. The buffet is great. There were enough Vegan and GlutenFree options to make the buffet walk-in price of $17.00 /pp, a good... value. We visited on a Friday, just before the end of the lunch buffet and all of the food was fresh, plentiful andflavourful. The star of the buffet today was a butternut squash offering ???? We kept going back to it, and hope that mentioningit will help keep it in the regular rotation. On our way out, we got a chance to wave hello and say thanks to the people in thekitchen today. Their care and effort was evident today and the friendly faces smiling back at us were so lovely andwelcoming. The restaurant floor plan allows for quick visits around the buffet areas and enough room for diners to easilynavigate around each other. It was a bit hot outside today, but there is also outdoor seating. It is a family run restaurant. One of the family members was at the restaurant. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Even... when asked about wine she was able to share information that was appropriate for the food being eaten. I haven?t been to Sizzling Tandoor for a little while. It is one of my most favorite as far as Indian Establishments go. I was... absolutely shocked by the rundown state of the restaurant! The seating( chairs) are beyond acceptable. One light working on verydated main chandelier fixture? The entire space needs to be renovated? please consider?ASAP Care and attention to this space hasbeen seriously neglected? The staff were wonderful as always and service was fantastic? First place I went to eat in Victoria and was really pleased with the experience. I've had a lot of Indian food at different... restaurants and this place would near more toward the top of the list. I had a coconut beef curry, and my girlfriend had aclassic butter chicken. Both tasted different bit equally delicious. We also got the garlic rosemary and garlic cheese naan andthey were definitely worth the extra price. They were both generously portioned, hot, buttery, and tasted great. I'm a big eaterand even the portion size was good for me. Shout-out to the girl who served us, was incredibly polite and even offered us freechai which also tasted great. the only thing was the lighting was extremely dim, and we actually had to use a flashlight to seeour food lol. One of my favorite restaurants in Victoria and definitely the best Indian food around! Lunch buffet is always delicious and the... vegan naan makes it a great place to bring my vegan friends. There are also lots of options that are not spicy like butterchicken for my husband who can?t eat spicy food.
