I got married in late September and by sheer stroke of luck, I was able to secure La Roux Patisserie to make my wedding cakes... after a tasting in early September (don't do this- book them early)! It was a serendipitous and marvelous experience to meetRebecca, Chef Joanne, and the rest of the team. In addition to the staff being wonderful people, the cakes and pastries aredelicious and beautifully crafted! The team was able to cater to many dietary restrictions and during our tasting, Chef Joannewas a math whiz and easily figured out what sizes were needed. Unsurprisingly, the cakes I ordered (raspberry chocolate, lemon,cookies and cream, and opera) were a huge hit and there were no leftovers! In fact, they were gone so fast that I didn't evenget a taste! Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the wedding cakes but I do have a picture of the cakes from the tastingand consultation. Came in with a group of 8, seated promptly and everyone who greeted us were friendly and helpful. Ordered several of their... pastries, Paris Brest was featured to us and it was very delicious. Seating is limited indoors so be mindful there could be await during peak hours Read more
La Roux did a phenomenal job creating our wedding cake, and the entire process of working together was a delight - from... preparing an enjoyable tasting experience to making a delicious cake using natural flavors to delivering on our design visionfor the cake. Rebecca and chef Jo are lovely to work with, and they helped ensure we had an amazing dessert to cap off ourwedding day dinner. Amazing place? best carrot cake, pistachio tart ever? cannot remember I cannot eat extremely sweet things, so these are just... perfect for me? I love their coffee too, even without the sweets it is still really good coffee. Couldn?t remember name for thethird one, but it was sooo amazing? Read more
This gem just happened to be right next to our AirBnB (lucky for us). The creme brulee was scrumptious; the custard felt thicker... than ones my husband and I have tried elsewhere, which we loved. We also had a lemon tart and a chocolate passionfruit tart forto-go to have after dinner. Normally I?m not a big fan of citrus desserts but the lemon tart tasted perfect and not too tangy. Ithought that was the end of the surprise until my husband tried the chocolate passionfruit tart and asked me if we could get notone but two more tomorrow before leaving the town! So glad we got to try their pastries while in town. Also we found the pricesto be very reasonable compared to other patisseries of the similar level. Read more
This is a must do got morning coffee and evening dessert. The shop is as cute as it can be. The staff is patient and helpful as... your eyes glaze over with choices presented to you in fragrance and color. I have have pastries in many places around theworld. This Patisserie produced the most buttery taste from a croissant ever. I was sad to finish it. The background music anddecor is pure charm and relaxation. We did not want to leave.
