Must recommend the Mixed Spicy Pot. Flavouring is so good and the mix of veggies that soak it up are great. Anything more than... medium spice would probably melt my mouth. Enoki and Bean Curd Sheets favourite ingredients. Read more

It's a delight to find a restaurant that serves Chinese food instead of Canadian Chinese food. The staff gave me a curious but... friendly look when I ordered the odd bits (yes thank you, I know that chicken knees will be crunchy!) Every skewer I ordered wasgreat. (Unfortunately the mapo tofu was a big miss. The old pockmarked grandmother in the sky is shaking her head at anyone wholeaves out the pixian douban and ground beef. It was just tofu swimming in an oily red soup. Come on guys!) Anyway the skewersare where it's at. I'm a big fan so yes, there are locals who know about the place. Read more

The food was absolutely amazing, especially the prawn skewers! We had prawn and chicken thigh skewers and both were spiced... beautifully, we also had the Cumin spiced Squid which was DIVINE. If you like spicy food, and seafood, definitely try it! Wealso had the big plate chicken (which was not a plate but a big caserole dish like pan) full of veggies and chicken, and broth.I didn't like it as much as I liked the squid, but nonetheless, it was delicious as well. Very well spiced (NOT the mediocre'white people level' spicy, but proper SPICY spicy) You can ask for your desired spice level too actually. Also, the skewers goSO WELL with the tsing taos. We will definitely be back to try more skewers, and the hot pot we couldn't try today. Read more

Wow! A unique and amazing experience. Food was delicious. Owner was fantastic and friendly. Apparently most of their traffic is... out of town visitors who have heard if the place. Not sure why there are not more locals though. Authentic food that you willcome back for. Take out and delivery also available. Read more

The food was good but a bit overpriced. It was almost impossible to find their menu. The menu on Tutti has no pictures or... descriptions and even not accurate so it was hard to imagine what we were gonna get. I hope to come back to try the hotpot afterthis virus thing is over Read more

I thought it nearly impossible to find a terrific Chinese restaurant in Victoria. This one, however, blows all of the other... Chinese joints in town out of the water, despite or perhaps because of its limited menu. The cuisine is what would be known asbarbeque street food in China. The owners hail from Northeastern China, near Russia and North Korea, and not far from Mongolia. This explains the predominance of lamb in the food ? Muslims make up a large percentage of the population of the region ? whilepork is relatively scarce on the menu. The food is spicy! And it is very good. Many Canadians tend to equate spiciness with anabsence of nuance. That is not the case in cuisines that are traditionally spicy, and it is certainly not the case here. If youare constitutively averse to spice however, don?t eat here. There will be little you can tolerate. We brought our kids to dine;and although some dishes were too spicy for them, they did eat the skewers and the lamb soup and loved them. Only the adultswere willing to eat the wonderful spicy hot pot, which was a blast of whole hot chili pepper, garlicky and savoury flavour. Riceand beer are virtually mandatory at this level of spice ? and, by the way, we asked for the kitchen to prepare the food asmildly as possible. Asian students are the main clientele here (hence the 1am closing time), but the restaurant is far from adive. Notes: lamb soup is not to be missed. Also highly recommended is tripe, shrimp and enoki and shiitake mushrooms in the hotpot, and squid skewers. If Victoria can attract and support more diverse restaurants like this, the future is bright. Read more
