I've been ordering from Baan Thai for years and always been satisfied with the food, portion sizes, and prices. Sadly the... quality seems to have decreased significantly as have the portion sizes, while the prices have gone way up (I definitelyunderstand that the price of everything has gone up these days, but this is the starkest increase I've come across... the springrolls have nearly DOUBLED in price, they used to be $8 for 4 and are now $15). Maybe only 6 months ago, my partner and I couldorder enough for dinner for 2 for around $30-$35 with a tip ? we recently ordered the same meal and it was almost $50 and notnearly as delicious as it used to be. I don't know why this restaurant isn't rated even higher than it is already. Very authentic tasting Thai food. This is coming... from a person who considers Thailand a second home and has been there at least 10 times if not more. Amazing food!!! Servicewas also excellent. It was my second time back to the restaurant. The first time was only two people. This time we were a largegroup of ten so I got to try quite a few items. The highlights for me were their chicken satay with an amazing peanut sauce,the Tom Kha soup was just brilliant, the Som Tum ( Papaya salad) was nice and fresh and the Pad Kra Pow (minced pork with basil)was probably the dish of the night. Easy to find Food is good, servings are small for the price Chicken satay with peanut sauce was good! Fried Calamari - nothing... special Green curry chicken with coconut rice - was good! Pad thai was good The waitress was always in a hurry, roaming aroundour table, cleaning our plates - when there were only 2 tables occupied. We felt rushed to eat. I heard a lot about this Thai food restaurant, and found the decor and servers to be nice and friendly. The food looked nice.... Flavors were as per the range: mild, medium, high, etc. But the minced chicken dish we ordered was full of chicken skin. First4-5 spoons were nice but the skin softness-and fatty texture made us all feel wanting to puke. What?s the cook thinking? Chickendish with skin in it? Do you know Asians do NOT eat skin AT ALL in any dish and gets offended if skin is mixed in the chickendish? And so oily? Totally not accepted. Overall, okay-okay dining experience, and I would not go there again. One visit wasgood enough. Excellent!! The food was absolutely delicious!!! I can?t remember the name of what we ordered, but when the food came, they made... a mistake with one of the orders, but it looks so good, and we said we didn?t mind. We didn?t even wait to take pictures, haha!So delicious. Our server just charged us less - the price of what we initially ordered - as the wrong order was more expensive.They servers were kind, ensuring that we were enjoying our meal. The waitress is really not nice ???????? Don?t trust their words ?Do you want to add some meant?? without telling you this costs... you extra $6! Great food and lovely staff. We shared the chicken satay starter, then had the green and red curries and coconut rice. The mains... were huge so we couldn't finish them and being in a hotel we had to turn down getting what was left boxed up, unfortunately! Read more
