The thing that stands out from the Red Onion from any other place, is the owner prides himself on the fact that the food is... always as it has been since they opened. Meaning that 20 years ago, it's going to taste the same today, and be exactly as youremember it. This was not the case yesterday. I came in and ordered my favorite Philly cheese steak sandwich, which is cooked ina marinade USUALLY. it was not prepared that way, and when I brought it to the servers attention, one told me they don't cook itthat way anymore, and the other told me it was cooked that way, and I then explained that I used to be a cook there and I knowthat it definitely was not. The chips were cold and soggy. I took one bite of the sandwich and gave it back and kindly asked fora refund, to which the server got a condescending tone with me. My sandwich with chips and a bottle of water was over $20, andI'm sorry, but if I'm going to get charged for fine dining services. I expect everything to taste that way, and the service tomatch. Red Onion has the best staff and great food. If they are busy, you may have to wait a little bit but you have to know you aren?t... ordering fast food. All good is made to order. Took 55 minutes before we decided to check on our food. Cashier said that the cook just started preparing our order. We asked... for a refund and the cashier was friendly and obliged on the refund but the unstable cook was very angry and began throwingstuff around the kitchen and acting like a complete crazy person. I understand that places are short staffed but waiting over anhour for a couple sandwiches seems excessive especially since we placed the order around 2:15PM, not exactly during the lunchrush. Went in on Sunday afternoon around 2pm, menu looked great, friendly service?. Ordered sandwiches, and waited???? 30 minutes?? 45... minutes? went in and checked and they said it was being plated and would be right out? perfect. 10 mins went by, went back inand asked?. ?Being plated?, 5 more minutes?? after waiting an hour for 2 sandwiches?. We asked for a refund and then the chefstarted getting upset/yelling at the fact that we simply couldn?t wait any longer for the sandwiches.. bummer. After seeing the menu and all the great reviews I would have loved to try the food. Unfortunately the girl "working" today had... other plans. After briefly looking at the menu, my wife and I stood at the register waiting to order while the employee wentout of her way to avoid even looking at us, sometimes awkwardly twisting her neck to look at the ceiling above our heads or thewall behind her. She took several trips to the kitchen, was rude to a customer who asked for more ranch, answered phone calls,without even looking at us or saying anything. This went on for several minutes or longer, and the place was not busy atall "I'll be with you in a minute" is all it would have taken. She might have been the only one working, and I understand thestaffing shortages everyone is dealing with these days, but it's no excuse to be rude. She finally seemed to notice us when weturned around and walked out, and she still didn't bother to say anything. Less work for her to do I guess. My family loves the red onion. The food is delicious and the staff is so lovely. When we have time, we relax and enjoy the... outdoor seating while waiting for our order.
